I thought I've liked jobs I've had before, but I really love my job now. Having a career in tech feels like I'm finally where I truly belong. It took a while to get here, but I learned a lot along the way.

Back when I was working a job I hated, I put on a Dolly Parton record and listened to it for the first time. While I'm not a country fan, her music really got me through that hard day. Optimism is contageous and she had plenty to spare. We lost a great one. Thank you, Dolly.

I like Grand Theft Auto. The new Grand Theft Auto game looks like a game I am going to play and enjoy. Therefore, I am going to play the new Grand Theft Auto. That's all that really needs to be said people lol

There's going to be a time where we look back on the days where stealth models were free for weeks at a time. Enjoy these while we can! AI will eventually reach a point where it doesn't improve anymore but until then we're in the middle of a very exciting moment for technology as a whole.

Actually completed GTAV for the first time. The game is just straight up FUN. So much variation in missons compared to the previous entries, and a stellar cast of characters. GTAV is a 10/10 for me. I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm ready for November!

At this pouint I've accepted that everything good will pretty much always become bad eventually. Star Wars, Halo, Avatar: The Last Airbender. It's all gone to shit. Severance, Project Hail Mary, Breaking Bad... They will be remade in 20 years and they will be awful. I've come to terms with that.

Deepseek V4 flash is looking really great form my initial testing. Already see a big difference in comprehension and speed!

it's possible to be pro-AI while being anti-data center it's also okay to declare that AI used for art is unnaceptable is coding an art form? or is it instructions? that's whats been on my mind lately. i truly do not know.

when I was young pop-punk music used to be average as fuck looking dudes telling real stories about growing up in a broken home today, pop punk is a bunch of trust fund kids wearing pop punk costumes with lyrics that mean nothing and over-compressed kick drums am i yelling at clouds?

The "AI is here to stay" crowd is getting louder which is exactly as predicted. The parellels to the computer boom in the 90s is unparrallelled. People were afraid of the internet, and now they live in a world they completely don't understand.

just watched Backrooms. Incredible set design, cinematography, music. The scary parts work. But the story is so thin it's frustrating. Barely any character development. I appreciate the craft but i'm more angry than impressed. 7/10

- Driving mechanics are attoricous. For a game where you spend 90% of the time driving, they really missed the mark. - Cover system is totally broken. So many deaths due to being shot as I'm waiting for character animations to end. - Restarting the entire mission every time you die is HORRIBLE.

I'm gonna be playing through the story mode of V in anticipation of VI, and I'm looking forward to never having to play IV ever again.

Devs: "you didn't make this app, claude code did" Musicians in 2005: "you didn't make this song, garageband did" sounds kinda silly now, right? sure, claude does the work the same way a garageband loop play the drums. it's always the end result that matters.

Playing GTA IV for the first time The driving in it is HORRIBLE!! So what did I do? I opened claude code in my game directory and asked it to make the driving feel closer to GTA V. It downloaded a mod and installed it, perfectly, in one go.

Tried Fable 5 for the first time last night; all I can say is WOW. The speed, the accuracy, the reliability... It just doesn't get stuck. I think the craziest part is that this will likely be an affordable legacy model in a year or so.

I have successfully booked an appointment with my father-in-law to acquire, experience, and enjoy Grand Theft Auto VI on release day ๐Ÿ˜

Rockstar isn't releasing a disc for GTA IV because of course they're not. Will there ever be a disc? Of course. Just like the PC version, they'll push out the physical version and sell it in a metal box and everybody will thank them and buy it again.

One of my favorite things is sitting down at my desk in the morning and enjoying a cup of coffee. Sounds simple, because it is. Trying to enjoy the smaller things in life a bit bigger.

The joke about vibe-coders is that we're developing apps nobody will ever use or see. Good! The goal of creating something doesn't have to be to share it. The best painting ever painted artistically speaking is currently located in a basement somewhere, has never been seen, and never will.

Apple under Steve Jobs today wouldn't have settled with a Siri Orb. He would have been like, "cool, but can I bounce it? Can I dribble it? Can I play basketball with it?" That's the difference between Apple then vs. now.

My kid (and wife) have now entered their Elmo phase and it's the cutest thing ever. I include my wife because a new Sesame Street branded item has shown up at my door every day this week ๐Ÿคฃ

I used to like people on Reddit until AI became a thing. These people are so daft it's insulting to the human race. You can invent the cure for all cancer and Reddit will downvote you if you used any form of AI to get there. Is it fear? Is it jealousy? Why do people hate AI SO much??

Let me be clear: I'm not talking about the current INFURSTRUCTURE of AI. This is currently in a terrible state, but it doesn't have to be. The penjilum will swing, the other party in US politics will prevail. We'll start to shift to green AI. I'm talking about the very IDEA of AI itself.

is there a dsm-5 diagnosis for "keeps 'accidentally' forgetting lunch" but its really the subconscious campaigning for yummy takeout and financial ruin? cause ya i have that

It's sad to admit, but I feel like I've officially been priced out of the gaming hobby. I can no longer afford a high end GPU, nor a gaming console. My current rig is becoming more retro by the day and it just feels better for my mental health to stop wanting and start scaling back.

the craziest thing about gta6 for me is that theres tons of police related footage in the trailers but nobody is talking about the possibility of a third playable cop character trying to take down the main pair. im calling it: third playable cop character with his own backstory.

It really bums me out seeing people go back to using the r-slur in conversation when they used to avoid it when it was deemed not socially acceptable. Proves that they never actually cared at all and it was all performative.

I'm at the point now where I don't even think about Windows unless I'm doing music production. VSTs will likely never be 1to1 on Linux which is sad but the fact that everything else has come so far in such a short period of time is nothing short of remarkable.

Life is hard, parenthood is hard, and being grown up is hard. But I'd be lying if I couldn't tell you that this is the best time of my life.

I have a complicated relationship with AI. On one hand, the speed at which it's progressing at is causing catastrophic damage to our home planet, mostly due to decisions made by tech billionaires to profit as much and quickly as possible.

If used properly, AI as a tool, can lead to productivity boosts and allows greater personal control over FOSS. Don't like your music player? Change it yourself. This has always been true with FOSS but the accessibility leap is huge.

At the end of the day, I hope that we can start focusing more resources on efficiency of these models rather than trying to expand them at /any/ cost. At some point the bubble will pop and the growth will hopefully halt. If the money isn't there anymore, maybe the planet harming won't be either.

But on the other hand, it allows for accessibility achievements decades ahead of its time. It allows anybody to learn anything with any learning style at any time. I personally have a problem understanding information if I can't visualize it. I can ask the computer follow up questions.
