Yesterday I was kicked out of Wetherspoon. Not because I kicked off or anything, but because I’d brought my cat, (I’d just got off a train so stopped there for a rest break). No fault to them there, rules are rules. But I’m still angry with them for taking steak off the menu.

I’m rewatching some mid series of Star Trek Deep Space Nine. I’m loving the Ferengi episodes especially, but I’m so reminded of how Cop Landlords was the greatest joke in the entirety of Lower Decks, and that’s a very high bar to reach

I got sent my 7-year-old’s new math curriculum, and home support guidance so I made a Python program: generates multiplication & division problems, randomised encouragement, and XP to save for Robux or whatever. Couldn’t settle on a title, so I randomise from a list of 20… all thoroughly cringe.

I think Uber might be having a bit of a wobble today. I got some refunds through for trips I rated 5* without asking. A driver didn’t show up, but picked someone else up across the city. And I got a pet uber that wasn’t communicated to the driver that I was bringing a cat. They were chill though

I've been a little worried about my laptop today, it's been making really loud noises just doing basic things, like was it overheating? After searching for the issue for about 30 minutes, turns out that my house's water heater had kicked in.. 😭

In my ongoing rewatch of Star Trek Voyager. I've noticed this ongoing running gag where in all the worst timelines, Neelix is in security. Either this means when the going gets tough, they get that desperate. Or you need to keep Neelix away from security at all cost! It will result in bad things!

25 years ago, we all got lucky. The "Millennium Bug" was a huge deal, costing billions to fix. Retired 70-year-old women, the only experts in dead languages and undocumented systems, were brought back to save the day—and they named their price. Good for them.

The morning after, when the dust settled, the narrative was that it was all a big fuss about nothing. Since planes didn't fall out the sky, there was no measurable chaos Annoyingly that's what success looks like. Success looks like no drama

I’ve been playing a bit of Indiana Jones, and some Half Life 2: Episode 2 in the downtime between Christmas and whatever comes after. And mother fuck. Tony Todd really is the best video game voice actor I’ll never get to work with. RIP legend

I woke up with a full glass of CndP wine waiting for me next to my bed. It was like drunk exhausted me was, yeah, you've got to rest crash for a couple of hours. But here's something to enjoy when you wake watching Doctor Who Unleashed. Which apparently is a thing that is called that on purpose

The actual fuck? I've done a Christmas day, with extended family, and they were all rad. Of course it was all super exhausting. Got home, hung out with my mum, drank a bit of wine with her, crashed. Just woke up and it's only 2 hours later!? I feel like I slept for like 10 hours

I guess nothing bad to report, Christmas is always going to be exhausting performative, stressful and of course autism. Slightly disappointed I so far only slept 2 hours. Two ghosts that called on me a bit earlier said there'd be three others to hang with? Lets roll dudes! (Christmas Carol "bit")

I love trains. Taking one now to my parents. It's had to halt for about 20 minutes around Durham. I get the caution, and it's a guy having a tough Christmas Eve on one of the big bridges, and I sympathise. Who doesn't have Christmas period trauma between any of us? I don't want that pain on anyone

Enough time's passed since Star Trek Lower Decks finished, I think is probs my favourite Star Trek (and I love them all). I'm thinking about how they brought back past characters really well. With standouts especially. And yet, they did not bring back Captain Shaw! And that is frankly unforgivable

There were so many subtle references in the final Star Trek Lower Decks episode. Kobayashi Maru was *almost* name dropped. And I'm confident there was a Bynars reference (one of the TNG episodes I watched last night). I'm certain the spoiler state of grace has not expired yet, so I'll say no more

I've been watching a bit of Star Trek TNG tonight. Episode 14 of season 1, and sure Riker gets his fuck on in the first 15 mins. I'm watching the one after and thinking there's no way, given the plot that can happen again. It does! 😬 Again 15 mins in

Last episode it was with an alien race because of course, Starfleet diplomacy right? This time it's a hologram of his own creation! Watching old Star Trek is my comfort food show. I hardly ever watch TNG, but wow, this Riker guy is entirely out of control! I have a cat who used to be like that

Aww, I just touched base with an old friend who I gifted my Maine Coon, Cassius when annoyingly I had to relocate to Guildford and could not take my cat. This was over 10 years ago, and shockingly he is still alive, and apparently has not changed a bit 🥰

The release of Marvel Rivals is a tiny bit bitter sweet for me because I interviewed for a leadership level design role for it in 2019. And I got the gig, and a really good offer. But Covid then happened. And it was impossible to relocate. Netease worked hard to make it possible. But sadly not to be

I haven't started the Indiana Jones game yet, just watched a bit of the Digital Foundry video, and is it just me or does the game somehow look incredibly "clean"? We've started to get too used to excessive post processing that adds this layer of gunk onto every frame, and this game seems to not
