🚨 Ballots may not be postmarked on the same day they are mailed. ONLY ballots that are postmarked by Election Day are counted. If you need to mail your ballot, do so ASAP -- and definitely by Oct. 27. After that hand it directly to a postal clerk and request a postmark at the counter.

Since our founding in 1920, the League has held this stance: We do not support or oppose any political party or candidate. We don't ask our members who they vote for. We don't fund campaigns. We don't wear party jerseys. We take this commitment to nonpartisanship seriously.

If your ballot hasn't arrived *don't panic* there are several things you can do (& you can DEFINITELY still vote). ✅ Check your ballot status at votewa.gov ✅ Contact the Whatcom County Auditor's Office (📧elections@co.whatcom.wa.us or ☎️ 360-778-5102) ✅ Print of a replacement ballot at votewa.gov

Vote “NO” on Initiative 645. Learn more ➡️ lwvwa.org/I-645 The ‘millionaires’ tax’ begins to correct this imbalance and affects less than 1% of the population - Washingtonians who take home $1M+ a year. Currently, wealthy Washingtonians pay lower taxes here than they would pay in 42 other states.

Why does the League oppose I-645 (repealing the millionaires tax)? The LWV supports a tax system that is fair, adequate, balanced, and based on sound economic principles. We believe a person’s ability to pay should be an important consideration. ❌ "NO" on I-645, so everyone pays their fair share.
