"The Anchor in the Roots" This drawing is a visualization of that existence. It captures a private moment in the life of this beast, away from the ongoings of the outside beyond this den.

May as well share some awesome dark sky photos I managed to take during my cross country trip bringing home the Nightmare horse 🎠 after crossing the Rockies around above Arches National Park in Utah on the 70 freeway the sky was so dark and stars so bright 🤩

I did a thing! I hopped on a plane to Ohio, rented an open-bed pickup truck, and drove nearly 2,500 miles cross-country to California in just 2 days non-stop, all to bring home a completely unique, one-of-a-kind custom carved carousel horse!

It's missing its original brass pole & stand, so I am in the process of sourcing a suitable replacement to mount it in its proper rearing up pose & angle as seen in the attached Magazine article from 1992.

Overall I am blown away by how good it still looks after 35 years! Also worth mentioning that this unique art piece was a resident of the Merry-Go-Round Museum in Sandusky, Ohio during the 1990s I am so incredibly happy & honored to share the amazing artwork of Cindy Crowell with you all! 🎠🖤

We battled insane monsoon-like rain, literal hail, scorching 110 degree sun, and severe flat desert crosswinds, not to mention all the bumps, jolts, braking, acceleration, & all the crazy physics of a 2400 mile highway journey. Against all odds, I managed to get it to it's new home with ZERO damage!

This 35 y/o horse is huge! It is approximately 7ft long and 6ft tall, and weighs an absolute unit, not sure exactly how much but if I had to take a guess, it's around 300lbs, and took 2 people straining hard, or 3 people to bit more comfortably but still struggling to move the awkward piece around.

I’m used to seeing her phenomenal drawings on paper, but a huge, tangible custom one-of-a-kind art piece like this is just on another level. It was well worth the expense of the plane ticket, truck rental, and gas, not to mention the purchase price of the art piece itself.

I have never done a transport operation like this before, so I had to rely entirely on common sense, DIY logic, and a whole lot of ratchet straps to make sure it survived. Across 10 different states, it rode in an open truck bed exposed to the elements.

This incredible piece, "Nightmare" was carved by the amazing artist Cindy Crowell in 1991. She is an animator in the 90s to present who worked on absolute classics of my childhood like Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Space Jam, & more recently, Castlevania & Tomb Raider www.imdb.com/name/nm1843011

Its a me! erm sorry, i scribbled this first one a bit ago but forgot to post it >.> Sorry for being slow in general, a lot's been going on that's been keeping me from drawing, but been working on some writing and will be posting some chapters soon & scribbles to go along those.

We choose the Wild because it is honest. Humans are deceptive. They claim to be civilized but destroy everything they touch. Their cities and machines as a perversion of nature.

Where humans go, the magic of the wild dies. The silence of the winter snow is replaced by the roar of engines. The smell of pine is replaced by exhaust. The darkness of the night is killed by artificial lights.

We thrive in the Deep Dark. The places of mystery and instinct. Humans seek to illuminate, categorize, and pave over the Deep Dark. They are the enemies of the shadows where we live.

The Keeper of The Braid [wip] A rare look of Aiyana with her long mane not in braids.. Aiyana's older sister, Miskwaadesi (let's call her Nita), is one of the few people Aiyana's protective instincts truly trusts to touch and be that close to her neck to braid and decorate her mane..

...Also this shows size difference of the werewolf and a female human. Sorry for not sharing this progress sooner, this is from the 2nd or 3rd.. As mentioned in my last post, I've been distracted from art stuff by irl shit that's happened recently, but hope to make some more progress on this soon.

Please comment and let me know what you think of the doodle so far or if you read the story in the link ^^ Seriously, I would love to hear your opinion, even if you hate it.

Also scorn Aiyana for her often destroyed braids: "Did you roll around in briar patches again? What is this!? Pine sap??" "Did you let that mate of yours chew on the leather bindings and feathers again?" 😡 Have the full story I plan to post along side with the final docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Portrait ref of my werewolf ancestor, Makadema’iingan Reuploading with a few colour tweaks.. something about the last version didn’t match what was in my head. This one feels a lot closer to the base colors I’ve always envisioned.
