I voted YES on Congressman Massie's amendment to halt an additional $3.3 billion in taxpayer funding for Israeli military operations in Gaza and Lebanon.

Rep. Jim McGovern@repmcgovern.bsky.social

NEWS: I’m leading a statement with 25 colleagues who are voting YES on Congressman Massie's amendment. For decades, U.S. taxpayers have funded Israeli military operations that have killed civilians & caused humanitarian catastrophes. Enough already.

Electricity rates are soaring across the country and American families are paying far too much for their electricity.   That’s why I support the #EnergyBillsReliefAct to lower costs by expanding access to affordable & reliable clean energy.

My office is accepting submissions for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition! Interested high school students in the Eighth Congressional District of Massachusetts should review the requirements and submit their artwork by April 24th.

There has been no clear evidence from the intelligence community that Iran presented an imminent threat to the United States. The Trump Administration is spending roughly $1 billion dollars a day in this conflict, funding which could have been used here at home.

After promising the American people that the Epstein files were sitting on her desk more than one year ago, Attorney General Pam Bondi has done nothing but delay and obstruct our bipartisan oversight investigation into the heinous crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein and his associates.

At Oversight Committee today, I voted YES on a motion to subpoena Attorney General Bondi that passed and will force her to answer our questions about the Department of Justice’s mishandling of the Epstein case.

It was great to meet with 30 high school students from Oliver Ames High School this afternoon. We had a great discussion on the steps of the Capitol to talk about current events, my role as their Federal Representative, and to answer their insightful questions. Our future is bright!

We need to be thorough and ensure that anyone who may have had any information or access to Epstein’s horrific crimes is brought in for questioning, including President Trump. The survivors deserve justice.

President Trump violated federal law when he unilaterally imposed tariffs worldwide. It is reassuring that six Supreme Court justices said NO and held this Administration accountable to the rule of law.

Great turnout at the Quincy Asian Resources Lunar New Year celebration - sincere thanks to Philip Chong, Lisa Hsu,  Mayor Koch, and Senator John Keenan for a wonderful family-friendly event. Best wishes for a safe and prosperous Year of the Horse!

Today, I joined my fellow Oversight Committee Democrats in Ohio for a deposition to question billionaire Les Wexner about his strong ties to Jeffrey Epstein. It was Wexner who gave Epstein the financial capacity to commit many abuses while he was in a position to stop many of these crimes.

This month, we acknowledge the long struggle and celebrate the hard-earned victories in the course of Black History in our nation. As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s words frequently remind us, the work continues for all of us.

Based on obstruction of congressional oversight, failure to comply with immigration law, violations of constitutional due process requirements, and unlawful interference with emergency funding duly enacted by Congress, I strongly support the Impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Noem.

ICE, under the direction of Kristi Noem, has completely gone off the rails and is violating the basic rights of American citizens. I will be voting NO on any funding for the Department of Homeland Security.
