Game developer, writer, and musician working on Macabre2D, Cosmic Jam, Comet Overdrive, and all sorts of other stuff. I don't use AI. Anytime I'm wrong, it's actually parody and you're wrong for pointing it out. he/him

Allow me to reintroduce myself: I'm macabrett and I make games, software, music, and a bunch of other stuff. Here's a little snippet of the game I'm working on: Cosmic Jam. It's a 2D skateboarding game. #introduction #gamedev #screenshotsaturday #indiegames

Someone needs to be punished for giving my number to so many PACs. I'm going to blame Bernie Sanders tbh. It all went downhill after giving him money.

Oh my god, the smell of rain on freshly fallen leaves is just... perfect. The entire year should be like today. Earlier I had sun with a nice breeze, now I'm getting one of my favorite smells piped in through the window.

I like Galactic Racer, but I dislike it's vehicle control and it's tracks. I think I would enjoy it more if it were literally a Burnout game, instead of podracing MotorStorm. I can't even tell where I'm supposed to go sometimes and the tracks look so samey, I'm not learning them

Been feeling so bleh lately, haven't been making much progress on anything. Got some bad health news this week and am now struggling mentally with that alongside unrelated physical symptoms. I'll get through this, just been a struggle.

Update: was asked to bring them today, was not asked at the actual doctor's office. Perfect record continues.

I've been told to bring my medicine "in their original bottles" to every doctor's appointment I've ever gone to as an adult and none of those doctors have actually asked to see them once I'm in the room.

I like seeing the dev of the SNES core on the Pocket actually telling one of these dudes off. Holy shit.

The discussion on the PSYOP that is Mike Tomlin's Minecraft city is the kind of thing that has VGBees bringing a smile to my face every week, despite all the other bummers.

Sometimes you don't have control over something, but that doesn't mean you should make it easy for the people who do

30 Rock ruined me, because I legitimately don't remember whether his name is Tracey Jordan or Tracey Morgan irl without looking it up

The most annoying Android feature that's been forced upon me is the thing that automatically turns down volume randomly if you've been listening through Bluetooth for too long. You don't know how loud my Bluetooth device actually is! Stop! I'm not damaging my ears!

I have a 15 year old scanner. On Windows, it has always been a hassle to use. Need proprietary software, won't get recognized, etc. On Linux, I plug in the scanner, open an application called "Document Scanner" and it immediately scans with no issues.

"Reacher, why are you filling that bottle with piss?" "My piss is normally 1.005x more dense than water. Today, I drank two bottles of Gatorade and ate a Denny's Grand Slam. My piss today is 1.02x more dense than water, which will make it hurt worse when it hits you on the forehead." *throw*

They should make JRPGs that operate as a series of short point and click adventures with battles in-between like they did in the PS1 generation.

New Mountain Goats record might be my favorite since Sunset Tree (just a special record to me, not shading the albums since then)

Genuinely think I learned to drive with Gran Turismo 2, just took another decade for me to be old enough to get a license.

The new version of The Grand Tour is great, because now I can finally watch "car mythbusters" without learning a new slur in the process

There's a certain balance of "I need to implement mechanics to allow me to have ideas about what levels I want to make" mixed with "I need levels to know which mechanics I should focus on" that I'm struggling to hit in Cosmic Jam. Been working on some menu stuff while I ponder it.

There should have been a Dead Kennedys biopic in the early 2000s with French Stewart playing Jello Biafra. Not because I want a Dead Kennedys biopic, but because I think French Stewart would have played a good Jello Biafra.

I don't really like doctor's appointments (just a lot of waiting to do something for like 2 minutes) so of course I've been cursed with the right number of diseases that I always have another doctor's appointment on the horizon.

Music pirates are so funny, man. Yeah, upload 2gb of Crass flacs. You know, Crass, the music that kinda sounds like shit on purpose (positive). Make sure it's the highest quality! Very important!

Finally implemented a smart build system for Macabre2D. I used to just force rebuild every asset, which was fine until I ended up with enough shaders to cause shader compilation to take some actual time. Now I only rebuild assets that have changes. I'm sure there will be bugs.
