What it’s like being me. On a construction site I corrected myself before making a bad cut. The foreman yelled, “Be careful! You almost cut that wrong!” ”If I almost cut it wrong means I cut it right, so why are you yelling?” Blank stare. “Don’t be a smartass!”

What it’s like being me. Same hardware store. A particularly rough contractor yelled for 5 minutes, “Your manager sold me this piece of sh1t drill! I want a refund!” We went into the lumber yard to test it. “Ah, here’s the trouble. You have it in reverse.” He took it and left without a word.

What it’s like being me. Same hardware store. 2 burly contractors and the manager can’t start a chainsaw. “You want me to start that?” Scornful looks. 5 sweaty minutes later, “Sure you don’t want help?” “Okay smartass. Start it!” I turned off the safety brake and fired it up. “There ya go boys.”

What it’s like being me. Same hardware store. A smartass contractor asked me, “Got any left handed hammers?” I didn’t bat an eye. “Yes sir, down this aisle, down the stairs, and past automotive.” I don’t know if he went looking but we had no stairs or automotive section.

What it’s like being me. Same hardware store. One Christmas season I took a plastic sign and wrote, “Navidad” under “For Lease” and stood it up on the hardware desk. Customers laughed all day. The store manager ripped it up and told me I was wasting time.

What it’s like being me. Same hardware store. I saw a woman, her head high as she scanned the store. “Can I help you find something?” I asked. She shook her head, “Husband.” “Did you come in with one or are you just generally looking?”

What it’s like being me. Same hardware store. A beautiful redheaded woman and her adult daughter approached me. She said in an Irish accent, “Are you waiting for me, then?” I put my hand on my heart and said, “All my life.” Her pale white face turned crimson. Her daughter couldn’t stop laughing.

While I hope this will bring about a free Iran for the long suffering Iranians, I think it more likely that the USA will try to control the new government and steal oil. We know that Trump isn’t capable of altruism.

Here’s how you get a Trump: Billionaires buy politicians and media who promote the ideas that faith comes before truth, that education is bad, that wealth equals superiority, and that white people are the chosen people. Then tell the ignorant uneducated whites that POC are stealing their freedoms.

Historically, hockey players have done a lot for their communities through appearances and charities. If a hockey player that supports a pedophile rapist president attends a children’s cancer charity event should the parents be grateful? No. They lose the right to be seen as humanitarian, as caring.

Look, Canada lost a gold medal hockey game. The sad part is not the loss. Sometimes teams lose. The sad part is that it allowed the USA team to show their true colours and, pettiness aside, side with pedophile rapists. The reputation of every player on that team is now tainted. Hockey is tainted.

Canadian teams… do not have congratulatory pre-game salutes to your returning American players. They showed that they are with the dregs of humanity, with rapists, pedophiles, traitors. Don’t cheer them. Boo them. Trade them to US teams. This is bigger than sports. I don’t want them In Canada.

The hard truth is that Canada outplayed the USA but had one of those games in which nobody could hit the net, except to hit Hellybuck on the crest. We missed open nets several times, missed on breakaways… these games happen. (Shrugs) Sad that it happened in the Gold game. Proud of the effort.
