MIKE JOHNSON: "We need people to believe in the integrity of the election system." Then STFU with your injecting doubt into election integrity

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

RAJU: But what evidence is there to prove the California election is rigged? MIKE JOHNSON: Look, some of these efforts are so diabolical and so far upstream it's impossible to prove. But I think everybody knows instinctively that something is wrong here.

This is the second #Survivor episode this season where the big story moment involves Christian’s shart in the dark

Delete your agents. Smash your computer. Drench your phone in acid. Then enroll in a creative writing class at the local community college and make something of yourself.

On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast. The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me. But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

With everybody using AI to write everything from emails to skeets, at what point do we just stop reading? Do you all really think letting AI write for you makes you seem smarter? I'd rather read two sentences of genuine human writing than a full page of slop any day

DID WE MENTION GEN Z

NPR@npr.org

At the U.S. Curling Olympic Trials, a team of Gen Z curlers usurped the long reigning champions in a big upset. A profile of Team Casper, who's bringing swagger, limber knees, and a some new sensibilities to a tradition-filled sport. n.pr/4c6Wjo7

I don’t think they meant to make it look this comfy. “Does dementia come with snuggly kittens? Okay then!”

In the tech industry, 'Loss of Contract' can very well mean 'no longer hiring other people and we have my cousin Jim doing everything with ChatGPT now'

Carl Quintanilla@carlquintanilla.bsky.social

RENMAC: “.. While there is quite a bit of attention on AI driving layoffs, most of the reasons cited in this data set are about ‘closing,’ ‘economic conditions,’ ‘restructuring,’ and ‘loss of contract.’ AI is a comparatively small factor behind the January jump in layoff news.”

Can we just have a rule that if you are in the Epstein files you can’t be in government? Is there anybody we can keep?

If any of these goons on the street were required to make an oath to support and defend the Constitution, this shit is nothing new. Call it like it is. These aren’t Patriots in the streets. These are Oath Breakers.

The Washington Post@washingtonpost.com

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the party agreed on three main goals: ° Require warrants in some cases and ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement ° Create a code of conduct and enforce it ° Require agents to wear body cams and not masks

The boredom and nonchalance of the other agents standing around this scene. The wiring is fucked beyond repair

Ordinary people are being so righteously brave in their defense of a Constitution that theoretically protects their rights, but does not protect their bodies from the government stormtroopers ripping it to shreds.

Dom Ervolina@dominicervolina.com

A video of ICE agents conducting door-to-door searches today in Minneapolis The homeowner requests a warrant repeatedly, is told they don't require one, then is told they're getting it, then the agents storm in anyway They also point a taser at her to try and disrupt filming

All In with Chris Hayes@allinwithchris.bsky.social

@chrislhayes.bsky.social: “A 37-year-old American citizen, the mother of a young child is dead tonight. She was shot in the face by an agent of the federal government, and that government has spent the day telling despicable lies about her.”

The fucking authoritarian entitlement of this guy. Same time he's trying to prosecute Comey and any other political rival while putting the military in the fucking streets. What about all of this is okay for the fucking MAGA worms?

Someone shared this recipe with me. I mean, I get the context, but I'm not eating any food with the word 'viral' in it.

Third-party organizations often find more success registering communities of color – particularly immigrant communities — than political parties or government officials. This is not surprising. Political parties and government officials are not known for their welcoming demeanor.

Nongovernmental groups like the League of Women Voters are now barred from registering new voters at naturalization ceremonies, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has announced.

...the authors claim that rising carbon dioxide can be a "net benefit" to U.S. agriculture... Bigger corn will be a welcome treat in our post-apocalyptic hellscape world.

Kids! Turn your mitochondrial challenges into mito-CAN-drial challenges!

Clay Ranck@clayranck.bsky.social

wtf is this nonsense? He thinks he can understand kid’s “mitochondrial challenges” just by looking at them? This is an insane person.
