I absolutely devoured this book. There was just something so captivating about the stream of consciousness style he used in this. No chapters, paragraph breaks or sections. It just goes from one fascinating moment into another. RIP Roberto Bolaño. #booksky

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

we actually need to band together and let the dems know we will never donate another cent or vote for the party again if a single member of the party votes to give a single cent to ice ever again

The Democrats that voted to to continue funding ICE not only need to be primaried. They need to be censured and kicked out of the party. No excuses at this point. They can try to justify it all they like. The Democrats need to grow a spine and start learning a lesson about solidarity.

"If you died in childbirth, you were honoured just as much as a young man who died in war" A coincidence the book went to reprint right after this author interview aired? I think not. It's now back in print, fascinating and wide-ranging, get a flavour of it here: open.spotify.com/episode/5eHk...

In memory of the great David Knowles, Venetia Rainey spoke to Camilla Townsend about why the Aztecs lost to the Spanish - and how the Aztecs wrote about it. Utterly fascinating. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/12...

Tesla earned $2.3 billion in the United States in 2024. You'd think it paid a lot in taxes, right? Well it paid precisely $0 in federal income taxes last year. You want waste and fraud? Look at what some big corporations and the rich are getting away with.

truthout.orgTesla Paid Zero Federal Income Tax in 2024, Despite $2.3 Billion in IncomeThis brings Tesla’s average tax rate over the past three years to 0.4 percent.

It’s simple. Trump and Musk both knew that if Dems stayed in power, they were going to jail or loosing A LOT of money and power… so they made a deal. Musk bought trump a victory and Trump let Musk do whatever he wanted to the government and regulatory system.Trump is fine with ruling over ashes.

The DEI caused the plane crash narrative is a distraction. The tariffs are a distraction. Whatever insane nonsense Trump spews that the media will chase like cats chasing a laser light is a distraction. The only story that counts right now is the wholesale hijacking of control of the US government.

The men carrying out Musk's coup are Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran. Make them famous. And, eventually, when possible, arrest them and charge them with multiple felonies. www.wired.com/story/elon-m...

I watched a Doc last night on the Criterion Channel about Poet & Activist Bob Kaufman called “And When I Die, I Won’t Stay Dead” that was added for #Blackhistorymonth He had a fascinating journey and created breathtaking poetry. I am looking forward to reading more of his work soon.

It is the responsibility of anyone who values knowledge and truth to stand firm and never relent in their duty to stand up for it. Even if it is uncomfortable or dangerous. This book is a great examination of how lies and manipulation can cause dangerous ripples of suffering.

To detach yourself elegantly from the world; to give contour and grace to sadness; a solitude in style; a walk that gives cadence to memories; stepping towards the intangible; with the breath in the trembling margins of things; Cioran, The Book of Delusions, 1936

I started reading this before the whole Neil Gaiman thing came to light and i think anyone who is trying to process and come to terms with appreciating the art of awful and problematic people would bennifit from this book.

Did a deep dive into Herman Melville’s “Bartleby, the Scrivener” today. Came to the realization that in the context of The current administration, this form of passive indifference could be almost more powerful than this performative outrage most people seem to be engaged in.

Remember those “Choose Your Own Adventure” books from the 80’s & 90’s?… I think I’m gonna write one for a mature audience. Day drinking, shoplifting, sexual encounters with strangers and gambling could be potential themes.

A wonderful trans woman reading tarot cards in Jackson square said i needed to “find my community again”… It became on of my New Years Resolutions. My only problem is that i dont know where to look. Maybe it’s here.

You are up to date.
