Took until last evening to realise that the microwave clock does not automatically update for DST. It’s been a while since I’ve had a gizmo that doesn’t do automatic time updates. Probably ever since I switched from an analogue watch to an Apple Watch.

Neat, Vampire Survivors now uses the achievement sets in Steam. Basically the only one in my completed list to do so. I expect none of the major publishers of the world are going to go and retroactively update their games.

Took me a couple hours to fall asleep and I woke up in the middle of my sleep just to have a fucking leg cramp.

Once again grateful that I've never put my self-hosted applications available on the Internet. VPN only, baby. I know there's at least one application written in PHP that's probably vulnerable too.

My PS5 was turned off for months before I accidentally started it up through HDMI CEC like three weeks ago, and now it's updated to 14.00, meaning I can't do jailbreak hijinks on it. Oh well.

I've tried using simple power thresholds in Home Assistant to track how my washing machine is running, but it's been a total bust since the power usage is so erratic. Therefore I've decided to try and build a state machine using automations. So far it looks better than what I had before.

Additional bonus: seeing what the washing machine is doing on my lock screen. If only I was smart enough to calculate the estimated remaining time too. Would be really nice.

Washing machine state machine is working now. Got a notification to my phone basically the second it was done. Now I just want to figure out some kind of a time estimate until the wash is done.

Shit.

Time to update my new Unraid server for the first time. Not a big update. From 7.3.2 to 7.3.3. Hopefully all goes well.

If I was a site reliability engineer and my services were being hosted on Yandex Cloud, I might be sweating quite a bit right now.

Maybe scheduling a parity check four times a year was a bit excessive. Nevertheless, it's running now, and will be for the foreseeable future.

Parity checks are a lot less painful when your OS and application data are not on the array itself. Although my OS is on a USB flash drive, so it's just waiting to shit itself.

Man, what an amazing album. And it might not even be the best Talking Heads album since Speaking in Tongues is also amazing. My ranking would probably be Remain in Light ≈ Speaking in Tongues > Fear of Music > Talking Heads: 77 ≈ More Songs About Buildings and Food > True Stories?

One of my registered domains got a massive 400% price increase, so I figured I'd need to either find a new place to register it, or abandon it. But turns out that I registered it for five years the last time, so it's good until 2030 comes around.

I wouldn't be surprised if Yousician received some complaints about their recent riffs of the day. It's only October!

Checked out if my old PSP still actually functions, and after spending some time rummaging around for a charger that'd fit it, it totally does! Even has all of my save data from 12+ years ago.

Finished watching the new season of The Grand Tour. I feel like the show could still use with a studio and studio segments, but it was otherwise good. Hopefully they continue making more.

It's probably a good thing I'm buying less and less physical books, as ever since Book Depository closed down, buying physical books has become a massive pain in the ass.

I really didn’t wanna start moving from Plex to Jellyfin, but the new Apple TV app breaks all of my subtitles. I also hate the new UI, but obviously videos being unplayable is a bigger issue.

I have a blog post that I need to continue writing at some point. Just haven't had the time to properly dig into it. I also need to clean up the apartment in order to not show my family that I live like a pig, and unfortunately that might have to take priority over blogging.
