Serving cheeses, pâté, wine and baguette for dinner with the pear crisp I just made for dessert. I never was a baker but I’m obsessed with making crisp because they’re so damn tasty with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. I’m gaining weight like crazy, and I honestly don’t give a shit right now 😳🤣

I’ll try and be more active again but tbh I may wait till after the election. Trying to avoid social media for my own self preservation for now. Today I voted, went to our public library and for a hike with Troy in the rain. I also made two of my fave fall salads. Hope you’re all well 💙

I’ll be on very sporadically the next week. Headed on a road trip. Lots of camping, trees and hikes. It’s what my soul needs. Be well, friends.

A quick lunch. Toast with melted brie and apple with a cinnamon dusting, fresh thyme from the garden and chopped walnuts. Oh, and hot honey! Very satisfying!

I hate him and his administration. They don’t give a shit, and it makes me furious! Trump administration advances plan to rescind protections for nearly 45 million wild acres - Oregon Capital Chronicle

Made myself a brunch after a long hike with my Troy. My husband has left for the weekend to help our daughter move out of college. Today’s plan is to make some jam, read a lot and enjoy the sunshine 😊

We’ve harvested about 80 lbs of plums from our tree that keeps giving year after year. Branching out, and making the usual plum jams but also plum chutney which turned out fantastic, and plum crisps that we bring as desserts to friends 😊

I seldom make pasta salads but this one hit the mark. Seasoned grilled chicken, chopped spinach, lemon zest, parmesan and basil with an evoo dressing with lemon juice, red wine vinegar, garlic and Dijon mustard.

Yup, I still eat romaine lettuce because I buy it from a local farmers market, and I have faith and trust in their produce coming from within 100 miles. I chop my lettuce finely sometimes because my husband doesn’t like large lettuce leaves 🫣And yes, I love garlic croutons.

I have the Watch Duty app, and as it’s now peak fire season here in California, I’m so grateful to our courageous firefighters who put their lives on the line to put out fire after fire 🙏
