I was suspended on Twitter for, I think, replying to so many people about Apocalypto and linking my breakdown post about it 😅 Would appreciate it if those who feel comfortable doing so, still use Twitter, and have followers there who also follow me, tweeting out about this while also tagging...

Here's a cool Mesoamerican tabletop game project for people to check out!

For this Halloween, I drew Not-Camazotz. 🦇 I wanted to draw my take on this as a way to get back to work on my Mesoamerican fantasy project. This is an update to an older sketch I drew. #art #conceptart #mesoamerica

...the @support account, explaining that I did great educational posts, got erroneously suspended, and that Twitter support should unsuspend my account, both so people know what happened and in case that helps with my appeal.

This has been in the making for a while, and it's coming soon: An interactive 3D viewer for my virtual reconstruction of Tenochtitlan, right in your browser. More details to follow. Stay tuned! #tenochtitlan #blender #threejs

Does anybody know if this year's annual Society for American Archaeology conference with be streamed virtually like last years's was? I can't seem to find a confirmation one way or the other.

If you live in the EU, please consider signing this! This has already gotten attention from legal and judicial officials and other EU lawmakers, and it reaching it's goal would potentially mean real legal reform on the issue of accessing/using software you bought once servers go down!

Does it play?@doesitplay.org

7/7 countries passed the treshold for the EU Citizens' Initiative against the destruction of video games. Now every vote counts! We are closing in on 400k signatures. Let's reignite the fire. Sign here: eci.ec.europa.eu/045... And if you aren't eligible, spread the word!

Does anybody have experience ordering books from Mexico to the United States? I'm wanting to order some academic archeology books from the INAH's store but i'm trying to gauge how much shipping would be or if it'd be cheaper to have it shipped to a friend in Mexico then them to me vs directly to me

To clarify, something I'm also wondering about is if, say, I bought 20 books, if the shipping would be cheaper to split it up so the packages would be smaller or if one giant package/shipment would be cheaper

So many new museum faces here! Have you come across pre-Hispanic objects in your collections that passed through department stores? I’d love to include more examples- let’s talk more! #provenance

Dreams coming true: finally getting to write about these guys and more on the department sale front!

I didn't realize bluesky didn't support gifs, apologies for the third image here being static (it shifts between 1330 to 1519, then colonial and modern day CDMX) Here's 4 more images while I'm at it

This is likely THE most well researched depiction of a shrine in the Templo Mayor / Great Temple of Tenochtitlan , the Aztec capital To the point where Rafael even submitted an academic paper for publication to accompany the piece! Please check out the art and like, repost, etc Rafaels's post!

As a PSA: The new TOS went live on Twitter, and contrary to rumors, the 'Opt-Out of my posts being used to train AI" option is still available If you or friends deleted or were planning to delete your account over that, it's worth reconsidering (not that there aren't other issues with the site)

Ok so lets see some of the pages finally! The story starts out in a city called Teko, inspired by the West Mexican Shaft Tomb cultures, with futurist Guachimontones which have become large civic centers. Also as you can see the comic is b/w though I'd love color I would have to hire a colorist lol.

Note: Unlike on the Twitter version, the researcher list includes some knowledgeable hobbyists, and excludes accounts which repost museum collection(s) But I might change it on either platform, or even expand them to include other parts of the Americas, etc Suggestions for who/what to add welcome!
