Thanks to Marvel Suoer Hero Island at the Islands of Adventure theme park, I came home with the urge to doodle comic book characters. Here are Victor Von Doom and The Thing ( from a tutorial on the Cartooning Club: How To Draw YouTube page)

Im about halfway through One World Under Doomfrom Ryan North, R.B. Silva, David Curiel, Travis Lanham, and Ben Harvey, and Holy. Cow. This is a great comic book.

BREAKING: Walter Koenig, who played Chekov on the original Star Trek series, has died at age 90. Koenig joined the NBC series Star Trek in its second season as Russian crewmember Ensign Pavel Andreievich Chekov. https://bit.ly/3UkRz7z

This is an oversimplification, but I feel like Avengers Campus at DCA is perfect for MCU die hards, while Marvel Super Hero Island at Islands of Adventure is perfect if you’re more of an old school comic book fan. Both obviously amazing

Visiting Celestial Park at Epic Universe makes me want to learn more about some of the great World’s Fairs, like the 1900 Exposition Universelle in Paris and the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago.

Started playing Marvel Snap this evening and can already tell that it's going to become something of an addiction. The card upgrades are a straight dopamine hit.

A new Make Mine Music post will go live tomorrow. It's all about Donald Duck and the National Oats Company. In the meantime, get caught up on the history of Disney (particularly Mickey Miuse) entering the world of cereal! makeminemusiccom.wordpress.com/2026/10/03/m...

Watching the first episode of Stranger Things: Tales from 85. Really fun so far. The animation is great, the voice actors are spot on, and the soundtrack is awesome.

Speaking of Popeye, I didn't know until today that Olive Oyl predates him and started as part of the Thimbel Theater comic strip and that her original beau was named Harold Ham Gravy…

We’re going to Universal Studios in Florida soon, and one of the areas I'm excited to visit is Toon Lagoon, which is chock full of classic cartoon and comic strip characters. It's also home to Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges. In anticipation, Here's a Popeye doodle.

I hate wrestling Halloween. What do you mean you're going as Classy Freddie Blassie’s Hawaiian shirt from Andy Kaufman’s My Breakfast with Blassie?

The eighties were filled with toy lines that lasted only a year or two. Infaceables used vacuum suction to change a figure's face. It might not have been a robot, but it was a fun take on the transforming toy craze. I wrote about their history here. www.retroist.com/p/infaceables

Getting ready for Halloween Horror Nights. Our youngest is watching Stranger Things for the first time (2/3 of the way through Season 2 today), I'm reading a Stranger Things novel, and Eggos are being consumed.

In the most recent Make Mine Music article, we talked about Mickey Mouse and Post Toasties cereal. But of course, Donald Duck would ever let Mickey get all the glory. Here's a peek at the topic of our next article, which will go live on 10/17

My current listen is the audiobook of Future Boy by Michael J Fox about the creation of Back to the Future. The audiobook version has bonus interview content with other stars of the film, which has been super cool.

I love Disney. And I love breakfast cereal. Especially if it has an awesome mascot. I had an absurd amount of fun researching and writing the newest Make Mine Music blog post, which explores the history of Disney and cold cereal! makeminemusiccom.wordpress.com/2026/10/03/m...

Went to the library and picked up the first 3 volumes of Clock Striker by Issaka Galadima & Frederick L Jones, published by Saturday AM. I read vol. 1 a few years ago, but rereading it before moving onto the others. The world building and characters in this are so much fun and the art is awesome.

Finally watched the PAC tribute of AEW Dynamite. It was a beautiful night with incredible performances. I hope I never have to watch another episode like it.

We've got a free trial of Paramount Plus, so I'm watching Star Trek: Lower Decks for the first time. Loved the first episode. Can't wait to watch more.

Working on this Make Mine Music blog post just reminds me how much I enjoy researching things, sifting through articles and interviews to put together a story. It's a bit like being a paleontologist uncovering dinosaur bones and then piecing the creature back together.

Diving into vol. 1 of Star Trek: Godshock. Really enjoying it so far, and I'm also looking forward to diving into Star Trek: Defiant once I've read this volume.

To be honest, I'm giving myself a couple days before I watch the Pac tribute on AEW Dynamite. I've seen a few clips this evening, and it looks like it's been a beautiful and powerful show.

Working on the first Make Mine Music blog post in a few months, and it's combining two of my favorite topics: Disney and breakfast cereal. I can't wait to share it with y'all this weekend…
