People are waking up to this incredible obvious realization wayyyyyyy too late

Peter Sagal@petersagal.bsky.social

It’s amazing to find out at this late date how much the rule of law depended on people simply deciding, on a voluntary, daily basis, not to break the law.

I heard a muffled "thud", looked over at the floor, and sure enough... there laid a microphone

So Gabbard fired 100 intelligence officials for sexually explicit messages? That sounds bad. Were they talking about grabbing women by the pussy or something?

As Federal Courts continue to rule against Musk, errrrrrrrrrr, "Trump", but Musk, errrrrrrrr, "Trump" orders US Marshals to refuse enforcement of those orders... what happens? My guess: doom and gloom

Yep... THIS

George Conway ⚖️🇺🇸@gtconway.bsky.social

“Mark my words. … They are going to basically tell the U.S. Marshals Service, do not enforce any of these orders, we will not obey them, … and, once that happens—I hope it doesn't … but I know in my heart that it will—our 236-year experiment … in American constitutionalism, is over.”

This. This right here is the whole enchilada.

What the Constitution did not foresee is the president doing whatever he wants, saying “What are you gonna do about it dork,” *and that both the legislature and the judiciary would be on board with it*. That last part is crucial. The Founders didn’t think other branches would forfeit so much power.

Facts. We had our chance and we blew it.

I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad. There’s not.

How much money is this costing me as a taxpayer? Enough to buy a carton of eggs? Meh, probably not

The champions of Free Speech are now forcing scientists to retract submitted publications until they can be checked for the appearance of “forbidden terms.”

It's getting harder and harder for me to come up with new quips

Senator Heidi Campbell@campbell4tn.bsky.social

We passed a bill in committee yesterday that felonizes elected officials if they vote against Trump’s immigration policy. Let that sink in. Duly elected officials will go to jail- will have a criminal record- if they do not vote for and support Trump’s policies.

I wish I could make up material this rich...

I was to give a talk at a big US Attorney's Office next week abt the complicity of German lawyers in the creation of the Nazi state. Yesterday the Justice Department cancelled it. Irony is dead. I've got an op/ed on this I'm looking to place. Help appreciated. #LawSky #Skystorians #Holocaust
