Let's talk about AI. I've been at my current job for 4 years. I work for a county HHSA agency. When I started, the counties in my state were not all using the same system to determine eligibility for benefits. It was federally mandated that ALL counties, statewide, use the same system.

be able to grant or discontinue, & I won't be necessary. People can already upload documents. Once they start forcing everyone to upload their own documents & teach AI how to interpret & enter the info, itself, what will they need workers to do?

Here's the interesting part. Since all counties are now on the same system, the past 2 years have been spent on making the system more efficient. This system now can shut down cases or continue running a benefits case, without any human interaction.

This doesn't happen on every case, YET. But I've gotten paperwork to extend a case in my caseload, & when I get to the case to enter the info for an extension, the system has already closed the case because that extension info hadn't been entered yet, & the system mails a notice saying the benefits

I was one of the lucky ones. The county I work for had already merged onto the new system & I was trained on that 1 system. Many counties were yet to be merged onto the new system. Now, it's been about 2 years & all counties are merged, so we all use the same system now.
