As one of the candidates featured in these polls - the infamous one in late June that showed me plummeting into single digits (which was at odds with our internals) - here's the impact of this "experiment"

I hope Democrats are ready to blow up the system with campaign finance and transparency reforms. Trust is already at an all-time low. We don't get out of this mess without rebuilding trust.

And media - who loves to ride the drama of a pollercoaster - needs to take a hard look at what's legitimate and what's not. If this teaches us anything - DON'T GET COMPLACENT AND DON'T TRUST THE POLLS. LOCK IN. SIGN UP FOR A CANVASSING SHIFT. LEAVE NOTHING TO CHANCE OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS.

But between crap like this, endless fundraising texts that drive supporters away with spammy fake deadlines and trash "match" claims, scam PACs run rampant for firms to grift without actually supporting candidates,

undisclosed content creators pushing content out either misrepresenting themselves as residents of states they don't live in or hiding whether they were paid and by who so they could make a buck, and the tidal wave of dark money ads --

Sure, a point was proven. Polling is broken. But tens of thousands of people poured their hearts, time, energy, hard-earned money into something they believed in - for a year-and-a-half, and it was treated like a game.

Democrats - it’s time to lock in. We’re a big tent party right now. We might have different ideas on how to get there but we ALL agree on where we’re going. Find a candidate that you like or find the Michigan ONE campaign. Sign up for a door-knocking shift. Let’s go win.

“Unions built the middle class.” Michigan is the home of the labor movement. And Matt Schlinker - a retired UAW auto worker - is running to bring that experience to Lansing. Watch our full conversation over on my Substack.

People just want someone who will listen and fight for them. That’s Tom. Listen to my full conversation to hear why he resigned as an Army Lawyer and how his team of 2 gets the job done.

“She told me that when the vote came before her, all she could picture was herself in heaven, not being able to look Jesus in the face and say that she voted for it.” More of my jaw-dropping conversation with Michigan House candidate Joseph McClusky is over on my Substack

Michiganders tell me they feel like tech is being forced on them, that it no longer feels like a tool for them but it’s using them. We’re bombarded by AI, Flock cameras, Amazon drones, and billionaires pushing for massive data centers with no public input or protections. Who is it all for?

Twenty-five years. It’s hard to put into words what this anniversary means. It’s strange meeting young people on my team who were born after it happened, heartbreaking to reconnect with friends in New York who remember it like it was yesterday.

Every year on 9/11 I recommend reading this piece about grief, love, and meaning. For all of the politics and all of the noise, it’s important to never lose sight of those who lost, those who suffered, those who ran in to help as so many others tried to get away, and the scars it leaves behind.

Workers built this country. The labor movement fought for the workers. From ending child labor to creating the weekend we all enjoy to the ongoing fight for good wages, fair treatment, and a system that works for working people. Happy Labor Day, Michigan.

Our country’s future runs through Michigan. So I’m relaunching my state PAC, A More Perfect Michigan. We’ll support 16 Democratic candidates in the races that will decide control of the Michigan Legislature. I told you I wasn’t leaving the fight, and I need you with me.

Everyone is asking, “What direction is the Democratic Party going?”. The results out of states like Michigan and Wisconsin show that people are rejecting that premise entirely. Let’s grow this party, be a big tent, and solve the real issue of how do we recapture the American Dream.
