Increase in productivity since 1979: 87% Increase in hourly pay since 1979: 32% Just so happens that ~25% of workers were unionized in 1979. Today? 10%. As unions declined, the super-rich have taken a larger share of wealth generated by labor. We must build back union power.

On top of refusing to fully fund SNAP during the shutdown, the Trump regime has: -Cut $1 billion from USDA programs supporting food banks -Enacted tariffs that have caused food prices to rise -Made the largest cut to SNAP in history -Canceled the annual food security survey Shameful.

The SCOTUS administrative stay is a terrible thing for 42 million Americans who are uncertain if they'll have food in November. But make sure to blame the *real* villain: Convicted Felon Donald Trump. It was his decision to appeal in the first place. Trump could just fully fund the SNAP benefits.

REV. BLACK (who was shot in the head with a pepper ball): “If this is what they’re doing to pastors, journalists, teachers, mothers, and the elderly gathered to sing and pray outside ICE facilities… what might they be doing to our neighbors who are behind those walls?”

This is a mod appreciation post.

ICE detains mother dropping off child at elementary school—refuses to even look at her U.S. legal papers. "What documents?" agent sarcastically replies—holding up the folder. "The ones in your hands!" witnesses yell back. Madison Elementary School in Santa Ana, California.

Denying access to food is an act of unfathomable violence and cruelty. The circumstances to how someone wound up needing assistance is immaterial: what matters is that everyone should have access to food. Everyone.

Everyone deserves food, shelter, and healthcare as a basic human right.

However the Trump administration now tries to justify its strikes on private boats in the Caribbean, nothing it can say magically unlocks legal authority to use lethal force against civilians. Congress must rein in this egregious abuse of power.

Hi!! I'm horsie! (pls suggest names because im so stumped)

I'm a little behind 😅 #sharkweeksketchjam Day 2: American Pocketshark(on the left). Apparently these are a very small, fairly new found shark! They can release a bioluminescent cloud from pockets near their fins...fascinating! Day 3: the Goblin shark. A bit of a weird shark...look them up!

Day 1 #sharkweeksketchjam is the Pelagic Thresher. What a lovely looking shark! I can't say I've ever drawn a shark, but this sure was fun. I am also using this as an opportunity to practice water color! Let's see if I can keep this up!

Can I draw sharks? Hmmmmm, I don't know...let's find out :)
