I have long said that this type of simulation should be a mandatory part of our drivers exam.

A transport company forced drivers to bike their own routes. Feeling a car scrape past at speed changed how they drive forever.

Why you need a bike trailer! How else would I have ever gotten this awesome free cat stand from my local Buy Nothing Group home! It would not have fit in my small car, and I brought it right to my back door.

Very interesting. Since power lines are often located along railway lines, one would not think the power has to be transported far from the track.

Commercial Solar Guy@commercialsolarguy.com

‘More than 11,000 trains have circulated over the solar panels…installation “perfectly stable and safe during their passage”…railway solar plant produced >16,000 kWh of electricity since May 20, 2025…100 meters of solar panels…initial trial phase in Buttes amounts to CHF585,000 ($704,600)’

And we thought it was a joke when this was suggested for Portage and Main

In Stavanger, Norway 🇳🇴 they have a raised bicycle roundabout to allow people riding to safely traverse overtop a busy vehicle roundabout. Was super cool to try it out.😀

We should have legislation that ties MLA and municipal salaries to minimum wage. Every Time one goes up x percent, so does the other.

A mayor who understands the importance of a Bike Bus!

I joined NY’s Cutest on the Bergen Bike Bus that they ride to school every Wednesday, rain or shine. We’re adding bike boulevards and more pedestrian space on Bergen and Dean Street, from Court Street to East New York Ave. It was a wonderful kind of day.

I won’t have to write my own posts, replies now, I can just repost his. I think the Greens and the new NDP would benefit from joining forces.

Avi Lewis: "We have shoved Canada Post so far into the market mindset that every few months we have a national conversation about why isn't Canada Post making money. Does the ambulance service make money? Do the police services make money? We're talking about a fundamental public service."

Please add this to our next NE Bike Group meeting agenda @adamjwpg.bsky.social

Chief Peguis AT trail was plowed after recent snowfall, but the access sidewalk to get to it at Rothesay was not. There was no way my trike could get there. Limiting access points to Henderson & Gateway, which are 2 miles apart is not good enough @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social @atcritic.bsky.social

Wow BC is staying on permanent DST! Meanwhile Saskatchewan stays on permanent Standard time. I had been rooting for permanent standard time for all. If Manitoba gets permanent DST I will just wait and get up with the sun in the winter.

When citizens got out shovels to clear bike lanes in Winnipeg last year, instead of a thanks from the City, they were threatened that they were a safety risk and needed to leave.

Cyclists clear snow from Comm. Ave. bike lanes after storm, call on city for accountability #news https://www.boston.com/news/local-news/2026/02/11/cyclists-clear-snow-from-comm-ave-bike-lanes-after-storm-call-on-city-for-accountability/

Urban Design Fail. Land levels are higher than sidewalk so water from downspout drains (directly or indirectly) to sidewalk. Then it freezes & we have an icy section like this at almost every house. Slush now, very difficult to navigate when frozen. @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social #ActiveTransportation

Unless it is for medical reasons, there should be a fine for stepping down before your Parliament or Legislative terms ends. The fine could be equal to the cost of a by election.

We need a shallower canal instead of our rivers for skating. We would have such a long season of skating! #Winnipeg Thanks for sharing #Calgary

Eau Claire looks so good today with all the frost. A wee bit chilly but it didn't seem to stop anyone from having good times. #Calgary #yyc #Alberta

My wish for 2026 is more km of protected bike lanes. Most especially on the routes I most use. Would love to be able to go 2 or 5 km to the store without having to worry and fear I will get hit. Imagine a life where you can commute by choice without fear of loss of life or injury.

I love seeing these videos, but also depressing to see how poorly my city compares. But @bikewinnipeg.bsky.social is working hard to get improvements made.

First snowfall of the winter, which means also the first snow plows of the winter. On bike paths, of course. Tomorrow's forecast is full of rain and all this snow will probably be gone very soon, but of course, we can't wait for that here in Oulu 🇫🇮 👌☃️🚲🚶❄️ #Oulu #Finland #MeanwhileInOulu

So disappointed to read this.

A quick explainer on Montreal’s election: The urbanist Projet Montréal party of outgoing mayor Valérie Plante has lost the election to the opposition Ensemble Montréal. Projet deserves a *lot* of credit for Montreal’s transformation in the past 10 or 15 years to be more bike/pedestrian-friendly.
