“Police beats where peacekeepers are active saw a decrease in homicides of more than 63%, more than double the citywide average.” We know what works, and Shotspotter isn’t it.

NEW: A steep drop in homicides in the 12 South and West side neighborhoods that had ShotSpotter sensors lasted a full year after Mayor Brandon Johnson scrapped the city’s controversial gunshot detection system, an updated analysis of Chicago crime data shows. @wttw.bsky.social

Let's try the Republican health care 'plan' on Congress as a pilot first. Stop their government-issued insurance plans and send them each a "set amount of money" or an equivalent tax credit to purchase health services as they see fit.

What's up with Trump support these days? We just got back from five days of driving through West Virginia, from all around the New River Gorge in central WV to Mingo County and Matewan in southwest WV, then north to the interstate and on home to Cleveland. Gorgeous country, but no Trump signs.

In West Virginia: We went through lots of tiny towns and unincorporated areas, on state roads, county roads and gravel roads. The first day we kinda noticed, then we started looking closely...and didn't see one Trump flag or MAGA hat.

In rural West Virginia: No 2020 tattered Trump flags, no 2024 signs, no 2028 Trump flags. We came across folks wearing white 'Freedom' shirts in honor of Charlie Kirk. But no MAGA shirts. So strange in what we thought was a deep red state in really rural areas. What have you been seeing?

You are up to date.
