It has been a hallmark of MAGA rightwing politics to remove law abiding gov. employees and replace them with loyalists to criminality, contempt for the Constitution, and the rule of law, and disrespect for Americans and their interests. They replace freedom and democracy with slavery to the rich.

Columbus Day in USA was in response to the lynching of Italian Americans, on top of national violence and hatred of new Eastern European immigrants in the late 1800s. It appeased Italy's disgust, Italian Americans' horror, and slowed other immigrants, specifically anti-Catholic violence.

We have seen that journalism, news media, fact based information media has already been diminished under mega mergers by mega billionaires. That has led this antiAmerican administration to allow even further consolidation of the media. Right wing, oligarch owned "news" is reliably unreliable.
