Although I am grateful to be working inside again — it doesn’t go unnoticed that the last two summers have been particularly mild…

Do artists in San Antonio know that they can show up to OTHER artists show openings — or exhibitions? Running a project space — I see alot of artists show up for their own shows (important) but not show up for the next ones on the docket. There are a few that do but it’s definitely not the norm..

One cool thing to note about adjuncting is that you’ll be expected to answer emails and fulfill requests, while you’re effectively unemployed — before your contract even starts! 🥳🤑

Hey, so what's it mean when a former terrible boss follows your successful co-op gallery? 👀

Y’all — Best Art Gallery: Interloper Gallery | community.sacurrent.com/best-of/2026...

apologies to the trees, but i’m becoming one of those people who prints a lot of things off to read them

Forgot to tag @fredtwood.com in this experience ✨🤩✨

As of this week, I’ll have completed my Spring contract as adjunct OLLU— and this is my favorite coffee mug.

@interlopergallery.bsky.social is officially in the running for “Best Art Gallery” in San Antonio 🥹✨🙀 Please vote for us but more importantly— come out and visit us! vote.sacurrent.com/around-town/...

Life’s too short for pay to play popularity contests …

If you tell me “efficiency” is the only thing that matters— I’m going to assume your brain is smooth. 😌

WHY IN THE FUCK — is my shitty former co-worker’s partner, sending me a fucking follow request on IG?! Any guesses?

Do exiting art students in San Antonio even care about exhibiting? You spend so much time in your respective programs, hone your crafts— then don’t have websites, aren’t on socials, don’t show up. Did you go to school just for the fun of it—Is your practice a secret? Did you give up already?

Me and @markanthony-mfa.bsky.social have recorded Episode 4 of our weekly Evangelion podcast that we've been recording now for a year and a half. I'm glad we are building up a buffer, lmao. We'll start releasing in a couple of weeks, hopefully!

Used to play a game just like “shell shock” in high school. I think it was called “pocket tanks” — it was very addictive 💥

We’ve increased our roster of collaborators, introducing: Anastassia Rabajille & Fred T Wood! Check them out: Anirabajille.weebly.com Fredtwood.com

Please consider nominating us for "Best Art Gallery" in this year’s SA Current's Best Of list... 👀

Avoid the curators that make you feel like strangers in your studio. They’re not worth it.

Jury Duty next week 🫠🫡

Amongst other issues: lot of folks out there need to familiarize themselves with the “courtesy flush” These are ‘public’ facilities for Christ sake.

Sometimes it feels like there’s absolutely no justice in the world … and then you see a nice BMW getting towed away from parking illegally.

Portland State has never once asked me for money as an alumni — I respect that. 🌚😌💰

Been watching/binging the original Dragon Ball for the first time EVER— that outro song tho is so catchy/wholesome(?) 🎶“believing in yourself sets you free…”🎶 🥹…stuck in my head 😭✨ Also, DB has great/accurate depictions of genuinely evil villains. I’m at ep. 112ish

Adjuncting again. Instant coffee has become my new best friend. What have I become??

I have sardines.

Taking hit points just thinking of what needs to get done this week… ⚡️😖⚡️

“wee-wowing” in front of Rothko

If I had a hobby it’d be eating breakfast.

Mark Anthony Martinez is the Troy McClure of the San Antonio art scene.

(Open by appointment) Closes Saturday Dec.20, 2025 Mark Anthony Martinez wraps up his final curation of the year with a brief survey of San Antonio’s original macaroni factory! This “ode” , if you will, spans multiple mediums—all honoring the “Lion” brand product produced by the original company.

when a tall yt man calls you “bud” tho

Here’s a couple shows we’ve cooked up for SATURDAY. We hope y’all enjoy!! 😌

Thinking back on when I used to memorize phone numbers— I reconnected w/ a friend from elementary bc he remembered my parent’s landline. We had a # ending in “1964” and my friend told me the only reason he remembered is bc my # reminded him of NINTENDO 64. That’s the only reason I remembered then!

Stepping outside costs $45 now…

I wish we had seasons.

I don’t really do breakfast during the week but… fried bologna sounds amazing rn. Or like a fried baloney sandwich 🥪

To my cats: “these are DADDIES pizza rolls.” 🐈🐈‍⬛🐈

Always fun seeing your exhibition listing go up on the regional art page:

Art. This is my life.

Did I mention, I’m making new works?🙂‍↕️

Sike — im actually curating 2 shows this month 🥹

It’s never a good sign when someone approaches you, when you have your headphones on/earbuds in…🫠🙄

Up Next: “Inordinate is a group show featuring three artists illustrating the unquestioned normalcy of militarism within everyday life and the inordinate psychological space weapons take up in the civilian imagination… this show alludes to the cost, trauma and banality of it all.“

There was a creek that ran through my grandma’s ranchito— it’s long since dried up but I dream of it often.

Damn— I just came up with a COOLER idea than I sent to the previous proposal 😰 Oh well. Next time. Next proposal… 🙂‍↕️
