In which Jason goes to hell eventually, after featuring as a side character in a movie that plays like a lower budget Shocker rip off. Pretty wretched, but the practical effects are fun.

When your daughter surprises you wearing this and you make a high pitched keening noise not unlike a fearful animal caught in a trap… Dad fail…

If you can get past the gimmicky casting this is a bit of an under appreciated gem. Fine Jerry Goldsmith score too. Not perfect but a good time. Which some days is enough.

Some New Horizons promo bits for BLOODFIST VIII: TRAINED TO KILL // BLOODFIST VIII: HARD WAY OUT (1996) — or, as it was originally known, the franchise-less ‘Hard Way Out’.

A very commendable remake, that presents Barbara as an empowered kick ass femme. That said it lacks the gut punch final nihilistic insult of the original.

Bit of a find this… A gritty, highly entertaining, seat of your pants style Brit heist movie with Mancunian King of Rohan Bernard Hill in the lead… Quality.

Not sure why my vegetarian self decided to sit through this. Equal parts brutal, morally questionable, and psychologically riveting. Hard to watch, but an intense and unflinching account of a traditional, masculine, theatrical danse macabre that is disturbing, upsetting, compelling.

The Vourdalak (2023) dir. Adrien Beau 🎬 If you want to see something spooky in the lead up to Halloween I recommend this French movie. The story follows a lost aristocrat into an Eastern European forest where he asks a secluded family for help. 🧵1/3 #filmsky #moviesky #cinema

Thanks to Jack Lyons for popping over for a chat last week. He's written a great article for The Globe. Huge respect also to two of my customers - Matt's Humphris and Cooke - who were kind enough to answer some of his questions. www.wirralglobe.co.uk/news/2662277...
