The 5th Syrian War Campaign initial setup. The campaign will start in 200BC with the Seleucid forces led by Antiochus the Great (red counters) attempting to invade Ptolemaic held Coele-Syria (yellow counters).

Got a few photos done for Sulla’s Civil War part 2 article in WSS magazine. Hopefully this captures some of the epic scale of the Battle of Colline Gate. Part 1 of this article is in the current magazine on the shelves now!

Unfortunate gastric news means that Lardy Rich won’t be able to trade at The Other Partizan - we wish him a speedy recovery. As a result, he has a flash sale on the Two Fat Lardies website of 20% off everything until Sunday. #miniatures #wargaming #spreadthelard #nerdlings toofatlardies.co.uk/shop/

A narrow victory for Hannibal in today’s game. A bit of a slogging match, as the Carthaginian cavalry didn’t make it around the Roman flanks. What I like about Strength & Honour is that they encourage players to adopt historical strategies.

Come and have a go if you think you’re LARD enough will be on 16th January 2027 near Southampton. We are looking for enthusiastic game organisers willing to run a morning and an afternoon game.

A 6mm game tonight of Napoleonics using an interesting twist on Strength and Honour. Not my idea I should add! 😂 It has some legs but lots and lots and lots of changes needed to get it right. This is not a project I’ll be working on so don’t go getting ideas!

Oh heck! The Men of the Orkneys are broken by the Northumberland fyrd and rout. Lord Copsi attempts to hold the line and pays for it with a tribute of sharpened spears. The baggage by the Humber panics as they rout back to the ships. Tostig is thinking it’s all over!

The USS Blue is finally destroyed by another torpedo. Can the Japanese ships escape now? The engagement ends. 5 US destroyers sunk against 2 Japanese destroyers and a cruiser in reply. A bloody draw is called.

USS Porter cripples the Yubari with gunnery. Our Japanese have done well but with 5 fresh destroyers closing and most of our torpedos spent the Japanese are starting to think it’s time to get away.

The US bring in another squadron of battleships and engage the Akasuki. She is repeatedly hit and evades a torpedo. Another US torpedo hits but it’s a dud. Breathing a sigh of relief is premature though as a final US torpedo hits home and the Akasuki is destroyed. The Patterson is crippled in return

The Japanese hit the US battleships hard with torpedos. USS Mahon takes fails to evade and is hit twice. The close range gunnery finishes it off. The USS Cummings is hit by a torpedo, breached and is starting to flood. The gunnery of the Suzetsuki cripples the poor destroyer.
