We tried "everyone is entitled to an opinion" for three straight decades and all we have to show for it is four thousand cases of measles and a death cult running the government. It's time for people who don't know what they're talking about to shut the fuck up.

Worth sticking around for Max actually doing a rap at 1' 08" about half crowns and shillings making no sense.

The government got Max Bygraves to educate the public about decimalisation through song. What other government policies of the last 50 years should have been put to music and who should have sung them? #GovernmentSongs @quantick.bsky.social

The only information I really care about when we hit this time of year is "what days do i get off over Christmas?" really that needs to be a banner across every page.

I needed to know what day the semester ends at my own university; it only took me a web search and 8 separate clicks to find

"Execs who really don't understand art or why people make art, in any way, finding ways to absolutely annihilate those that do," Absolutely. And in a culture where a lot of people don't even recognise games AS the tenth art.

Pouring one out for Bioware this morning, and thinking of their rise and fall across such a long period. It's oddly close to home, for someone who never worked there, and only in an adjoining industry. But I did get to see behind the curtain once, and it stuck with me.

BioWare was really dead once the key talent that created the Mass Effect trilogy and the first Dragon Age games had left. They're at Archetype now. That's the mistake EA made, you can buy up a studio, but you can't buy up people. Sucks that anyone loses their job, but for me this wasn't BioWare.

Jason Schreier@jasonschreier.bsky.social

BioWare, which was once hundreds of employees across three offices, had around 50 staff remaining when EA closed the studio this morning. EA gutted BioWare after the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard last year, as we reported then: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

Games move you. KOTOR, Mass Effect, Dragon Age had scenes, character moments that still resonate with me years later. That's not something a big corporation can provide, unless they've learnt to let the writers, designers, coders, do their own thing. EA has not learnt that. Probably never will.

Hey, just a humble, respectful request. For the love of fucking god, stop fucking attacking Donald Trump with blatant and repulsive homophobia. If you think going after fascists by calling them gay or producing AI slop of them in dresses or making out, you're part of the fucking problem.

This is why I never give advice to my kids about looking for work, as a gen x person I've been living with this boomer bullshit advice for 40 years. it was out of date as soon as they monopolised the workforce.

well yes. I can see why Kentucky and Mississippi would want to join the UK. I mean we already eat a huge amount of ther chicken of one and we'd put the effort into learning how many "s"es and "p"s there are in the other.

My latest blog post. Based on some researchers who put googly eyes on a takeout food box to see if that would discourage seagulls from stealing your lunch. There's serious work on how animals track eyes and on trying to stop animals from taking food. www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/ment...

Colleague of mine, young and charming lady, at some point must have misheard the idiom of "spitballing". Thus, she'll say sentences like "I'm snowballing here, but..." As a good colleague I ought to tell her but that would obviously be insane. Besides, it always brightens my day.
