Considering that's their fourth road game in 12 days, that's a massive result for the Whitecaps, regardless of opponent or how interesting they made it at the end. Diaby with one of the highlights of the season Now we need to hope the guys get some rest and that Good Brian White returns soon #vwfc

Takaoka with another huge save to preserve points. Maybe his best season in Vancouver and certainly one of our top 3-4 players at the moment Getting some breathing room in the West is nice. Need to push now to secure top seed and finish ahead of all the not-Nashville teams in the East #vwfc

Man, the MLS season is interminable... AZ playing for the Whitecaps feels like five years ago Anyhow, thanks for the goal #vwfc

Loonacy! St Louis' streak is over as Minnesota United come back from two down at half time to win 3-2. Former Whitecap AZ started things off too in the comeback. Great result for the Whitecaps. Now go get it done in Austin! #VWFC

Andrés Cubas and Édier Ocampo are our two best players. We can see what a difference having them made tonight This is the type of performance that can turn things around. Hopefully we're not gassed for Wednesday. I have to assume St Louis wins tomorrow; that next game is for first in the West #vwfc

Having Priso back doesn't hurt either. I hope he can stay healthy down the stretch Takaoka was so reliable tonight as well. Very different vibe after this game than the last few #vwfc

Müller is far from the only reason for tonight's loss but this was the type of game where Vancouver needed more from him. He had chances to make an impact and didn't. There's been a few of these lately and people are starting to notice #vwfc

That's one of those where you wonder if Thomas Müller should take on the shot himself The pass option was a good one, but on a day when the Whitecaps need someone to step up and grab the game by the scruff of the neck, you want him being a bit more selfish #VWFC

Glad to see Bruno is back; I hope his injury doesn't linger. The Caps need him, and need Sabbi to continue to find form Sørensen-ball is at its peak with two productive, proper wingers. The lack of that is the biggest reason (yes, bigger than losing Seb, imo) they've struggled with low blocks #vwfc

I hesitate to call any road game in MLS a game you should win, but Seattle is terrible right now. The 'Caps needed something after (mostly) dominating recent games and not winning, and to stay in the Supporters Shield race They did it with a second half that hopefully gets them back on track #vwfc

This was easily Elloumi's best game of the year even before the goal. He looked involved and on the same page with teammates in a way he hadn't all year Houston will be different gravy but if Gauld and Müller are starting to figure out how to play alongside each other, look out #vwfc

That was an exceptionally frustrating game to watch. Vancouver dealt with the limited availability and guys playing out of position pretty well overall, but my word when they got near the box... I'll be diplomatic about Müller: they needed a lot more from him tonight... #vwfc

One positive I'll take from tonight is Gauld. I was hesitant to put too much expectation on him after the injury, but he looks as good as he has since the beginning of last year. In terms of production (not style), he's our best shot at replacing Berhalter #vwfc

Aimless and gutless. Belgium was as great as the US was shit. That was never competitive. No shame in losing to Belgium but that was absolutely shocking. At home, no less #USMNT

Halhal is not up to it for Morocco. Canada should be pushing at him every chance they get, which they've done with their press. David has been very good in that regard but he needs to do something with the actual ball, too #CanMNT

US actually holding on in a tough spot in a critical game. Granted, Bosnia stinks, but... This team really does feel different. Will need to be better against Belgium (whom I also honestly don't think are great, they were worked by Senegal for most of that game). #usmnt

Pepi (a player I've never really gotten, at least in a US shirt) will need to step up and at least win some duels and be active in the box. We have the guys to do it otherwise #usmnt

I've been following the game since 2004 and this France side is the best international team I've seen in that time. Their 2018 team, the Germany team before that, the Spain team before that, any iteration of Brazil/Argentina/anyone else... all on the next tier below during this time period

No one is invincible, of course. The games will get harder for them and nothing is certain. But they just have a level that no one in this tournament can match If France wins this the way they've been going so far, I think you can put them next to any other iconic side in World Cup history

Marcelo Bielsa: misunderstood genius or just a rich man's Sam Allardyce? Now that I got that out of my system, incredible stuff from Cabo Verde, which came after Iran, and Curaçao yesterday, and so on Teams I was worried about coming in, making this a truly memorable World Cup

I've generally appreciated the referees' efforts to let the fellas play in this World Cup, but man, some of the stuff ignored in the Mexico-Korea game... Korea had a guy literally pulled to the ground by his shirt in the last minute, no call I mean they obviously wouldn't have scored, but still

Japan actually start playing and almost immediately score a goal. Such a disappointing approach from them beforehand, showing too much respect to a Dutch team they are at the very least equal to. Hope they don't go back to that now #WorldCup
