I was a high school senior in 1984. One of my social studies teachers that year challenged us on what we thought might be the most disturbing things we'd see in the future, and, like, half the class said nuclear war. I was reading a lot of Ray Bradbury at the time,& I'd just finished Fahrenheit 451.

Holy shit, was he ever right about the whole interactivity with t.v., the live hunt, etc...in my eighteen year old head, a public televised execution seemed like the next step, proof of a society in decline, what would it even be like to be alive for that?!

Love music, worked at record stores for twenty two years & as a door guy at a bar for seven of those, so I've seen a few hundred bands live...but the worst?! Jane's Addiction, 1988, Lone Star in K.C...Perry, Dave, & Eric were junked out as fuck. Perry thought he was in Kansas the whole time.

FULL DISCLOSURE- while I do not actively dislike Tool, I am, at best, a casual fan. That said, as I was assembling my list, I realized I've somehow seen Tool live a total of...nine or ten times. Which seems...totally weird.
