Aliens of Charted Space Volume 1 Update 2026 is coming on Wednesday! Check out Planet Mongoose for a sneak peak of this in-depth update: www.mongoosepublishing.com/blogs/mongoose-publishing-blog/preview-aliens-of-charted-space-volume-1-update-2026 #ChartedSpace #TravellerRPG #ttrpg

Holy moly, this sounds like way more than your typical facelift — this is an entirely new book with new rules and guidelines for creating and playing Aslan, Vargr, K'Kree, and Zhodani Travellers. Sounds like a must-have.

Probably just me being a grumpy old asshole, but few things are more annoying to me than live show versions of my favorite discussion podcasts. They almost universally devolve into shouty, performative nonsense.

I don’t understand “creators” who exclusively crank out AI slop. What are you thinking? Seriously, what is your rationale? And why would you think people would want to PAY FOR your AI slop? Baffling.

After working from home for 6 years, I started a new job this week that puts me back in a corporate office setting and comes with a pretty nasty commute … so my free time is suddenly at a very high premium. Figuring out what that means for Signals from the Core.

The Vargr are the only species in Charted Space known to be uplifted by the Ancients, who genetically engineered them from Terran wolf stock. Learn what that means to the Vargr in Aliens of Charted Space Vol. 1 Update 2026, coming soon! #ttrpg #TravellerRPG

I know there are folks who don’t believe reviews in Apple Podcasts have any benefit in boosting visibility for the show, but boy they sure do boost my spirits and make me feel like it’s worth the effort and time commitment. Thanks for the encouragement!

Easy day-one addition to the library when this is released in a couple weeks. Excited for it.

An unwary Traveller might hear 'herbivore' and think 'pacifist', but a swarm of Quickening Thunder fighters will swiftly disabuse them of that notion. Aliens of Charted Space Vol. 1 Update 2026 releases at the end of the month! #ttrpg #TravellerRPG

Secrets of the Ancients is an amazing campaign. And if you haven't checked out my monster 10-part review & campaign diary for it, you definitely should. It offers tips, tricks, new resourses, and the unhinged madness of how my players handled it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nriu...

Historians speak of a race which dominated known space for millennia, accomplishing great works and playing god with sentient life. The scholars are wrong about only one thing - the Ancients are not all gone. www.mongoosepublishing.com/products/secrets-of-the-ancients #ttrpg #TravellerRPG

I don’t understand folks who are obsessed with “romance” in video games. A thread… Like, I get the part where cultivating closeness with companion characters can lead to more immersive gameplay. That’s not what I’m talking about. (Cont.)

I’m talking about YouTubers who break down romance options, not just all the various ways you can romance companions in past games, but speculating on romance options for upcoming games. How will it work? Who our options will be? What are the creators saying??? (Cont.)

Drew Karpyshyn the narrative director on next year’s EXODUS game recently talked about it and now there are videos dissecting everything he said and how they hope it will work. I just don’t get it. Okay. End rant.

No group for the Traveller Core Sector campaign you want to play? No problem! Let’s look at SOLO Second Edition and how to make it feel tailored to the sector. I also rank the six campaign types for Core play. (And I may have talked myself into a Scout courier campaign). Out now: pod.link/1830887367

Traveller is the greatest of sci-fi RPGs. It has maintained its enduring legacy for almost 50 years. Elite, EVE Online, and Starfield were influenced by Traveller.

I’ve watched it at least 5 times now. Maybe 6? I’ve lost count. But I’m completely comfortable saying that, start to finish, ANDOR is the best television series I’ve ever seen. It’s perfect, and powerful, and complete. I absolutely adore it.

I never liked the idea that Bwaps wear a sort of wet poncho. They'd be dripping everywhere. I prefer, instead, that they have a sort of wet suit, a bit like a Fremen still suit that retains and regulates moisture and they would wear a dry garment like the poncho over the top.

Got mine last week. I love this book!

I've finished mapping the Outer Rim's densest subsector, also a major hotspot, with a shooting war ongoing between the Vencarii Dominion and the Korvellan Demarchate. After a string of defeats and the loss of four worlds, the Demarchate is now employing Carcarian mercenaries in its defense.
