I am thinking about what other name I could give the female Draco Malfoy to move the character away from the IP. I really like Lucy/ Luzia instead of Draco. Or a creature name: Fae, Kirin, Hydra? Arya also sounds high and mighty. The family is more tricky.

I made some concept character sketches for the gender bend female Draco Malfoy idea aka Malfoid. I find it funny, that this fan art story overshadows the actual new show so much - at least online. ^^ I did this mostly as a challenge to see what I can do compared to the AI versions out there. #MEart

You asked AI for the cheapest flight. It dug through your emails, decided you could afford more, and suggested a ticket costing $100–$200 extra. Lindsay Owens explains ⬇️

Also cominig up: On the 30th, October 2026 Meta updates its terms of service. Which allows them to not only use the uploaded data, but also everything linked to. That's insane to me. As far as I understand it, it only means business accounts, but I wouldn't trust them on this.

niemanlab.orgMeta’s new commercial terms will allow the scraping of news sites, legal experts sayStarting October 30, business accounts will consent to Meta scraping their websites if they continue using Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.

I have deleted my Facebook account years ago and I dont use Instagram that much, but that is still an awful direction to take. I have taken the steps to not allow the scraping of my data, but if that really stops them ?

I checked my Instagram account. Wonderlink - which doesnt host any content, just more links is the only direct link. There are other links described in my account setting but they are not active links (clickable) Not sure if that makes a difference though.

The EU is going to vote on a law that basically says that AI doesn't have to follow the same rules when it comes to protecting and handeling personal data. They have a "reasonable interest" and can use your data without asking, it also doesnt matter how old it is.

First day of the "Spiel 2026" in Essen is over and I am preparing for day 2. Only a few appointments with publishers this year (they already know me) more time for games, art alley and the signing session as well as after hour parties - more like meet ups. ^^

I am also checking for options to sell in artist alley. Which seems like such a big step to attempt. The fair in Essen is also not the best place to start. A small booth place can cost 1k€ for those few days. Other fairs only cost 2-300€, but are also quite a bit smaller.

I always check for AI use, but for the last years there really wasn't much of it. Last year some middle-sized publishers went with AI and didn't really sell much - the customers didn't like it.

So global warming. We are at the point where the 1.5° mark can only be reached if we cut everything now. Sadly we have wars, the USA pushing in the opposite direction and Germany is pushing Gas and Military. Despite all of this, there is still progress and EVs sell better each year.

news.un.orgGlobal warming will breach 1.5°C – but deep, fast cuts can still bring it backWith global temperature rise set to exceed 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, countries “must pull out all the stops” and urgently cut emissions to minimize the overshoot and return to the internation...

Tomorrow the Spiel 2026 begins in Essen, Germany. I will be doing signing sessions at Iello for the King of Tokyo Godzilla game. Signing boxes, drawing doodles.

A complete roster of Adobe and more rebuilds. They work on Linux, are faster, free and so far stable. However, you can't create compatible files for InDesign or Illustrator - Like affinity does. PSD or PDF work though. I still have to test word or Excel files. Let me know if you tested any of these.

With AI being what it is, it is still fascinating to see what it does to fan production and edits. The quality for some of the Malfoyd anime stuff, rebuilding software... can we also redo the last season of Game of Thrones now? Rewrite the SW prequels? Where does it end?

This reminds me of the time before the copyright. You published a novel and within days somebody else publishes the same thing. With AI it started with scraping, but now it affects almost anything that you can find on the web. From games, software to movies. Absolutely wild times.

Another closeup for the buildings in the recent Tip Toi Trollwoods learning game by Ravensburger. These were a lot of work and the big board + the smaller ones took a lot of time. (See last post)

I can share these too now. For the Tip Toi boardgame: Trollwald (Troll forest) by Ravensburger. The buildings and characters were a nice challenge to do. #noai #MEart

A fantasy cover for a board game, that I illustrated for Haba. "Abenteuer 1x1" (Adventure 1x1) is a redesign of an older version. The character design was a lot of fun to do. #noAI #MEart

Avatar - Seven Havens. New world, new characters, mystery as to what happened before etc. Fittingly they changed the art style too, it's closer to Scavengers Reign with a heavy design influence from Moebius comics.

Correction, its not a new world. We know Aang and Korra existed, but we don't know how much time has passed, we vaguely know what happened but not why etc.

Rumors are, that somebody used Opus 5.5 to rebuild all Adobe Apps and put them on Github. No subscription and it works on Linux. I like what this does to monopolies and for consumers, but I hate what it means for copyrights. GTA5 browser game, movie scene editing (Draco gender swap).

Avatar Aang, what a fantastic piece of animation and skill. It takes the 2D+3D approach from Tarzan and perfects it. The combination is seemless. And of course its greta to have team Avatar back together. Shame it wasn't released in cinema.

Its fascinating to see the cost of housing being a huge problem in the western world. Spain went into protest mode after an 80+ year old woman got evicted, the left party in Germany brings dispossession of housing giants into play in Berlin.

About a month left to the convention, a few appointments with clients, meeting artists, a signing session and after hour party. Sounds good. Now I will try to make some targeted portfolio pieces in time. Realistic vehicles is first on the list. I made a few for the Godzilla game like these:

So Disney finally wants to make a new Darkwing show. While it doesn't sound like they stick with the version from Ducktales (the new one will be voiced by Mark Hamill) I am optimistic. Since most of their cartoon remakes and shows are quite good if not great.

The Fisherman, by John Langan. I enjoyed the audio book reading on Audible a lot. This is lovecraftian horror at its finest. It focusses around 2 men that bond over fishing after tragic losses and the question, what you are willing to give or ignore to make the pain go away.

To my great and pleasant surprise, the new He-Man movie was quite enjoyable. It was comedic, very self-aware of it's silliness and even Leto made for a fun mustache-twirling Skeletor. If you know the old cartoon and toys, then this movie is for you. Luckily the movie only spends 15 minutes on earth.

Clayface in October, Dune in December, Werwulf in January. I didn't get around to watch the new Spiderman recently, and I am not really all that interested in Doomsday either. How about you guys, what movies are you looking forward to?

Ashoka S2 is coming too. And I wonder if they improved on anything. In S1 the writing was meh, the characters meh, the fighting meh... I didn't like the show at all. The big question is, can they make Thrawn scary and smart or not?

HBO Potter: Well, it LOOKS good. Not much more to say at this point, really. Except, that it feels so close to the old one that I wonder why I would watch it? If this has been animated instead I would be much more curious about it. (art by Rion)
