How should NATO deal with the leader of its most powerful member nation when he turns off a satellite system serving to protect Ukraine from Russian missiles ? This, after he's broken his own sanctions on Russian oil. I suggest Pete Hesketh gets his firing squad ready to deal with such a traitor.

Trump has created a country which will be in perpetual division, dangerously so. His fan base is shrinking by the day. What remains of the MAGA cult will eventually accept he's the laughing stock of the world, a golf club bore who thinks he can get what he wants by threatening people.

Imagine the joy that broke out when Andy Burnham told the nation the UK government he will soon be leading will be "unashamedly Labour" ? With no election looming, our new Prime Minister is obviously more eager to please his own MPs than UK voters. They've been ignored, by-passed by a Labour coup.

Much as expected, Trump seems to want to withdraw from Iran and declare victory asap. The bombing has brought death and destruction, but no regime change. Iran were never close to nuclear weaponry anyway. Trump has been fighting Netanyahu's war and pissing off all the US allies who've been damaged.

Gotta love our politicians. Anas Sarwar says he wants Keir Starmer to stand down as Labour prime minister in order to help end the disastrous rule of the SNP in Scotland. He could have said ... "because it'll help me become Scotland's First Minister." But that would have sounded selfish and tacky.

Congrats to Keely Hodgkinson, but I voted for Alex Yee for the BBC SPOTY award. The triathlon is the toughest of sports and to win Olympic gold in such dramatic style was truly inspirational. Sadly, Yee attracted less SPOTY votes than a plump teenager who throws darts for a living. C'est la vie.
