NEWS! Carer's Allowance Cliff-Edge to end (my instant reaction). It's one of a number of pre-budget announcements that have just come out.

The REAL living wage is to increase to £14.10/hr (£15.45/hr) meaning half a million workers on this voluntary employers' scheme will get a pay rise. I've long been a supporter of the real living wage and would encourage employers to join it if you can... www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2026/10...

Pension triple lock: what's REALLY happening. There’s a huge amount of misunderstanding out there. My must-watch mini-briefing I hope keeps it as simple as possible, so you can see how it’d likely roughly really work. As for is it good or bad… that’s your decision, not mine.
E.g. If inflation was 4%, & average earnings growth 2% in each of the first two years then in year three inflation was 2.5% & average earnings 5%. The State Pension over the three years would rise 10.5% just due to inflation link – higher than the 9% total growth in average earnings since the start.
