From Kassie, Nadia and the team at ActionStation #nzpol ๐Ÿงต Over the past week, the leadership of Christopher Luxon has been called into question in the polls and the media.ย  Aotearoa is no longer buying what his government is trying to sell us, and hereโ€™s 99 reasons why:

'Young idea-less boy, blames people from years ago for saving many lives, in attempt to distract from this governments economic austerity incompetence'. #nzpol

looking forward to when read-aloud software knows about tech terms. one needs to read the text visually along with hearing it, to know they mean 'AWS' [not oars], and 'APIs' [not 'Ar-piss] ๐Ÿ˜‚

It Lives! I built a Rasberry Pi based TV mute controller for my LG WebOS tv, and I'm sending events to @honeycomb.io using their libhoney lib. Nice to do a non-enterprise grade IT project for a change, i.e for fun. I'll do a write up & link to the repo #raspberrypi #observability #O11y #python

I've been bogged down in writing about cost controls for the past few weeks (current status: 6k words and trying hard to edit down ๐Ÿฅบ).. but I took an hour this morning to write up a response to @mattklein123.dev's thought-provoking take on "observability 3.0". charity.wtf/2025/03/24/a...

charity.wtfAnother observability 3.0 appears on the horizonGroan. Well, itโ€™s not like I wasnโ€™t warned. When I first started teasing out the differences between the pillars model and the single unified storage model and applying โ€œ2.0โ€ to the latter, Christiโ€ฆ

It's handy when job descriptions let you know the red flags early on, by accidently saying the quiet bit out loud "3+ years managing a portfolio of projects (up to 50 at any one time)."

I've just completed a large Javascript course ๐Ÿ˜Ž I've worked with JS since 1998 but it's useful to do a complete course in a topic to fill in any gaps. Particularly true for #Javascript as a lot has changed over the years. 'The Complete JavaScript Course 2025: From Zero to Expert' at Udemy

This isn't some fluff survey... it's from the group I'm working with inside of OpenTelemetry to help make it better for you, as an End User, to instrument with Otel. It's really important we get as much feedback as possible from as many engineers, even if you tried it and decided not to.

This holiday season, give the gift of feedback. ๐ŸŽ Are you a developer using #OpenTelemetry? Then take our OTel developer experience survey to let us know what you think! Your feedback helps us make improvements to the project. Survey runs through January 31st, 2025.
