Aww shucks...

Statamic@statamic.com

Our friend Marty Friedel is taking the stage at Laracon AU in Brisbane this November with a talk called High Performance Statamic — the story of dragging a decade-old, 50k-page site into Statamic + Bard and making it FAST.

A client's @statamic.com site is expanding to new languages. Given its complex structure and number of Collections, I wrote a command that creates localisations across the site, making it ready for the translators to work through. And when they add a new language, we simply run the command again.

Last Thursday, Claude Code used my entire daily allocation just thinking - with zero lines of code produced. But I got work done, because, well, I'm a developer. So I developed. AI may be a great co-pilot, but your skills are the safety net. Keep them sharp. www.martyfriedel.com/blog/ai-froz...

martyfriedel.comAI froze, and I coded: why developer experience mattersWhether you like it or not, AI is here. And you’ve probably noticed: it seems to pop up in every app and subscription these days.

I've made a number of purchases from imusic.au, based out of Denmark, but sold in Australian dollars. Their customer service is second-to-none, including when I pick up the phone to speak to someone in Denmark. Friendly, efficient, and incredibly helpful. More businesses need to be like imusic.au.

This is an interesting read. laravel.com/blog/which-a... But I have a question: given the performance of Codex with these tests, why is there such a seemingly one-sided love for Claude in the community? I’ve used many… have my thoughts… but curious about why you chose and love your AI tooling?

Turns out someone is using my photo and name in a scam email about Statamic. The email address listed is some dodgy gmail email. This is not me... so please don't engage with them. No idea what I can do about it though.

I've been teaching Les Mills classes for 18 years now, and BODYPUMP for 8 years. This week I started teaching BODYPUMP HEAVY: tempo-based weight lifting for strength and lean muscle. The best bit: the music is drivingly brilliant, especially compared to the direction of the standard BODYPUMP music.

Hey @statamic.com devs - with v6 now in beta, and a launch coming soon, some of our addons will require a major version number bump. Iconamic, Logger, Sticky Notes, Stripe Checkout, TinyMCE Cloud and Variable Number. Others are v5/v6 compatible. Check the docs for full details: docs.mity.com.au

You’ve heard of chia pudding… but what about chia jelly? Made with fruit juice instead of coconut milk. With goji berries, a diced strawberry (have you seen the size of them?), 3 blackberries, 3 raspberries, 1/3 white peach, macadamias and shaved coconut. Ace breakfast for a 42 degree day.

Arts and crafts with my new IKEA MYGGBETT door sensors. These used to be white. But a can of spray paint helped me make them better blend with the sliding door frame, and still have a functioning button and LED alert.

Over 90 hours of playtime over 5 months, Death Standing 2 wrapped as did 2025. Weird, a stellar soundtrack, and also dealing with some sensitively deep themes, I’m not ashamed to admit to wet eyes at several moments. With most of its time set in Australia, it resonated a little more personally.

Whether it is your real family, your chosen family, or some quality alone time, I hope you’re spending your day filling up on good vibes, good food and excellent people. Because surrounding yourself with excellent people is a must.

Filming this made my day. Following on from @jbrooks.uk carry on about Marmite at @laracon.au 2023, it was great to offer 2025 speakers legit ridgy-didge Vegemite... and it even fooled Mr Brooks here. So here you have it folks: proof that James likes Vegemite.

Created an Image button for Flux's Editor component. For this ultra-simple use case, images are stored inline as base64 encodes (given images are actually so rare for this use case), and a button to add/edit the alt attribute. Swish!

Somehow my package can depart Denmark on Friday, travel to Germany, China then the Philippines, arriving in Sydney on Sunday... and then on Wednesday still not be in Adelaide. Another was due Monday, but has been sitting at the depot. Australian delivery partners really are the weakest link.
