For example, the cards in play might be A. The triangle is acute. B. None of the medians is perpendicular to a side. C. All sides have integer lengths. The next player wants to play "Side lengths are 6-8-10". Is that consistent?

Do you challenge that card? If a player decides to challenge, they must explain why it's inconsistent with the cards already played; maybe "6-8-10 is a right triangle and card A says it's acute." (Thus, developing their paragraph proof and reasoning skills).

It's a geometry review game. Players have cards with either an image or a statement about a triangle or polygon. In turn, each player must lay down a card that doesn't contradict anything in the middle. You have the four cards at the bottom. Which one is consistent with the three already played?

The most annoying thing I've run in 40+ years is creating curricula and materials in one format and having to re-create it all in the next format. I started on dirty-purple. 20+ sets of conversions later, here we are. No, I'm not moving my presentations to your website. #ITeachMath #MathsToday

I need to be able to run my classroom right now. The materials that I currently have ... are fine. I make small changes to lots of it every year, as I go through each course, but I can't take that much time for every single thing.

Sure, your new superwhiteboard website might have some great features but I'm not changing to another proprietary format now, only to find out in 2 years that your funding is done and none of my work exports in a format that any of my current software recognizes.

Things my students said today: "A corner of your cheese landed on my chair." & Massive giggle fit. To her sister: "Take your earpod out of your ear, young lady." More giggles. Drops calc on own foot: "My foot. It's been attacked." Whole class loses it. #mathstoday #iteachmath #YeahItsAlmostSummer

#MTBoS #Iteachmath It's time for the occasional reminder of the day in 2021 when I did a Google Image search for "Math Icons". I was looking for images to use on a website menu ... symbols, math class cartoons, and such. Here's a partial screenshot. IYKYK

Love this visual of the proof of the angle sum theorems in Precalculus. I do it every year and it never fails to amaze. Horizontally: Green=yellow-pink cos(A+B) = cosAcosB-sinAsinB Vertically: Yellow = green + pink sin(A+B) = sinAcosB + sinBcosA #iteachmath #MathsToday

Hello, World. Sorry, but this is who the USA is now. A lot of us voted for Harris, but enough people voted for nobody, or sat out, or voted for the iDJT. Half of our Government is fully behind the Orange One, and half of the country LOVES it. Apologies in advance for what we're about to do.

Those are the questions I want the students to consider. Sure, it fits a cubic, but SHOULD it? Are those two outliers anc this is unchanging? If this is real world, what happened in 2003 vs expected? Interpolation is ok. How far can we extrapolate beyond the data before we feel it’s too uncertain?

In #MathsToday. The box announces that Cologuard finds 92% of colon cancers. Later in the ad, we're told false positives can occur & this slide flashes on the screen. If you receive a positive result, what are the chances that you do have colon cancer?
