Some of my favorite budget cards for Council of Reeds. Team Transmitter is SO MUCH LIFE Junk Winder shouldn't be $.25, it's just too good is too many decks Relm's Sketching or See Double on T4 just kickstarts the gameplan Perplexing Test is a 1 sided board wipe at instant speed and isn't Rift

Bad news: I took apart my Council of Four deck last week. Good news: I built a new deck that is blue, and has a council in the command zone It's literally a pile of "cards I already own" with 2 exceptions. I'm excited to be rolling up to Magic Con Atlanta with at least 2 brand new decks

C.H.U.D. is so silly. Schtick, commentary, lots of camp. Love this one a lot. The sequel needs to be somewhere I can stream it that doesn't require some random offshoot subscription...

Nightmare on Elm Street part 2 is one of the best bad horror movies out there. Freddy Kruger is on the Mount Rushmore of horror baddies, and this one is just all sorts of corny. Nightmare 1 was great, and they just get progressively cornier. Always worth a watch, except for 3. Even I can't stand 3

They Will Kill You is awesome. It's not a new genre, The Hunt and Ready or Not did it first but this is probably my favorite in this realm. When these movies are fully self aware AND campy, it just hits different. Make sure to check this one out. It's great.

Also, this gif reminds me why I think these series lose their punch as they progress. You already know the bad guys and so they stop hiding them. Jason, Michael Meyers etc got more screen time as the series go, letting you acclimate. Nightmare 1 still was mysterious, keeping it scary and mysterious

They’re technically not the right tokens but these are the perfect tokens to use in my council of reeds deck

Last night we watched the 2013 remake of Carrie... You'd think with the cast it would have been good, or at least had a fresh take. Nope. Skip Also I'm not a purist but I'd love if we could get book accurate actors to portray these characters, especially when it's important traits to the character

First, good for Demi Moore just saying “screw it” and going for it. Body horror isn’t normally my fav but this was creeeeepy. A sentence I never thought I’d say: wtf was that belly button scene? The ending was absurd as well, but the best horrors are also comedies. More unsettling than scary

I can't emphasize this enough: UB sets will be much better because of this new shift to telling original stories within the UB setting. Rehashing or just showing what already happened is fine, but a new story appeases the incoming fans AND the returning audiences at the same time. This is very good

I am so glad the next Marvel set is Magic leaving its mark on Marvel not the other way around. New visual designs, new characters, a story built for the set? This is how UB should be structured. A two way street.

It aint much, but it's an honest rank Seriously, the dregs of Gold was such a grind. Turns out you just need to spam Braum w/ Bandlepipes or Lulu if you have a hypercarry and you fix your mmr right quick

Bijan Robinson might be the most fun to watch running back of this generation

JUDGE! Ok, say I have my commander Council of Reeds out with Shameless Charlatan. Reed's trigger goes on the stack and I activate Charlatan in response to have my commander become a copy of another creature.... what happens? Do I get a copy of OG Reeds or what Reeds became?

It’s October so I guess I’ll start up my spoopy movie thread for the month. I’m freaking love horror movies, especially the c level “we have nothing to lose,” types. I’m just going to watch as many good or bad horror movies while I can, starting with tonight’s entry: The Substance

So last night we finished Monster: The Lizzie Borden story. Maybe not spoopy or a horror necessarily, but still creepy and murdery. It was...fine. It moved really slow and took five-ever to wrap up. Ryan Murphy's stuff always has pacing issues. They also did a lot of editorializing of the story

Life the past few months has been...rough. On top of the job search going into month 3, I had an appointment with an ENT doc to find I'll likely need surgery in the next few weeks to fix a deviated septum.

Are you really watching the Traitors is you don’t try to roll your R’s like Alan Cumming whenever he asks if someone is a trrlrlrlrrrai-tor?

0-2 dropped with a super blah gw pile. Got flown over both matches and even when I was gaining 5+ life every turn some games, it never felt great. My 2 drop slot was very weak compared to what everyone was doing. At least I got some sweet loot in my collector packs and very fancy Goyf tokens

I *mostly* agree with this. It mainly means we have to be honest with why specific cards are banned/unbanned though, which is really hard for most players to do. Lots of folks, myself included, can get some cloudy judgment

Steph 🔜 MCAtlanta 11/13-15@steelcitysteph.bsky.social

Decisions about what cards to ban or unban in Commander should be based on what is best for the format, not on the historical or social implications of banning/unbanning those cards. "We can't ban/unban this because gross people will get their way," for instance, is not a good argument.

When creators do work for brands for free, they communicate to that brand and others watching that some people will work for free... so the brand begins to seek out those people. Remember that when you advocate for yourself and the value of your work, you're also advocating for others indirectly.

Lots of overlap between my Kwia list and @jimtsf.bsky.social's here. Super excited to check out how it plays

Wife went to bed early which means it’s a quiet night watching Aaron Donald on Monday Night Football and taking decks apart to make room for new ones. Not a bad evening all things considered

Seeing Smiter has me reminiscing. Fleecemane Lion. TappedOut decklists. Standard was awful(mono black devotion) People actually played Legacy. Ultra Pro anything. Anything else from 2012 I’m missing?

This post is unavailable.

So I THINK this is where I'm settling for v1.0 of Kwia. Lots of bite and fight effects so I can trigger lifegain on every players turn, not just mine. Stuff like Auriok Champion, Authority of the Consuls and Shattered Angel are gonna be rad, Sunscorch Regent will always be a stud

Matt Morgan@mathimus55.bsky.social

Catching up on previews and OF COURSE I had to brew the new Selesnya legend. Or Vigorbloom or whatever we're calling GW now. Either way, this deck looks super fun and I only need to cut down 30 cards from my maybeboard archidekt.com/decks/262474...
