Back to work onΒ Wednesday. Today was a good day - cleaning up around the house then went for a walk down the road to pick up a monitor for my work setup. At the moment I had two 24" screens and they were on two arms that hung off a pole that is held in place with a vice but the problem is that theβ¦
When you solution makes the problemΒ worse. It is always interesting how politics always provide plenty of fresh fodder that I can feast on for my blog - just when you think that a politician has ceased saying something silly I am reminded that they have the capacity of saying something evenβ¦
End of theΒ week..again. Work went well today although I kind of wish that people would be doing something other than ringing up on a Sunday. I don't know whether it is me but I've been banking with my bank for 18-19 years and in the whole time I have banked with them I've rung them up a grandβ¦
When people like this guy post videos on YT I really have to wonder whether they've travelled outside of their New York bubble because if they did they would see that outside of a few large cities that there are a massive number of Americans living in conditions that would be considered desperate. π§΅
It truly is amazing the extent that neoliberals will twist themselves into a pretzel in justification of their ideology - they're like young earth creationists desperately trying prove the world is only 6000 years old even in the face of overwhelming evidence being provided to prove the opposite. π§΅
Almost there. I decided not to have a walk tonight, just not in the mood and I think a day or two off from having some exercise is perfectly fine. As the old saying goes, "everything in moderation including moderation" and tonight for dinner I had some tacos from my favorite Mexican outlet. Theβ¦
Iβm sorry but it was you who started the witch hunt and guilt by association. You donβt get to suddenly put on the brakes when you realise that your whole dirty politics scheme backfires and now, like a cartoon, you have soot all over your face. www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...
Going well..at the half wayΒ point. Had a great sleep last night and I have to admit that resetting back to my old routine of walking after work has really helped the situation a lot vs getting up early in the morning. I guess it was a situation of me trying to impose a routine that may work forβ¦
Another busy day. Another busy day working through a mountain of cases not to mention dealing with customers ringing up - some needing genuine help while others can't seem to function in life without someone continuously holding their hand every step of the way doing the basic of tasks. With allβ¦
Insufferable AI bros in the comment section of a video once again demonstrating everything wrong with AI bros. If you give something away for free then people will use it, the litmus test of how useful something is: a) Are they willing/able to pay for the service vs what they did before the service.
Google is removing the 'subscriptions' button in YouTube - why? what reason other than making people more dependent on the algorithm is there? I really have to wonder whether the people making decisions at YouTube talk to normal people in their life.
A good nightΒ sleep. I came back from my walk last night, jumped into the shower then jumped into bed - I really needed a good night sleep and the moment my head hit the pillow I was fast sleep for a solid 9 hours before being woke by my alarm. I checked the news and what has happened overnight -β¦
A busy day, now off toΒ bed. Well, that was another busy day - finally finished off all the emails that were sitting in the queue which should make life a whole lot easier for the morning crew that comes in. I went for another 14.5 km walk and at the end of it my leg were sore but my feet were evenβ¦
Catching up on theΒ news. I woke up today just before 11:00 am, opened up the curtains and let the sun light flood into the room. I then opened up my laptop and checked my usual news sources such as RNZ (Radio New Zealand), NPR, PBS, plus some sources on YouTube such as DW, France 24 etc. There areβ¦
A good day. Today was pretty busy for some unknown reason given that it is midweek and most of the time when we are busy it tends to be on the weekend. Oh well, I got through the day and to be honest I was really looking forward to the walk at the end of the day - a way of resetting my brain soβ¦
Getting ready for a day back atΒ work. That walk last night took a lot out of me but I was able to have a really good night sleep - as soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep instantly. I had one of those sleeps where it was deep and long, no interruptions the whole night and when I woke upβ¦
Off to bed. Well, I'm off to bed for a good night sleep and back to work on Wednesday. I went for a 16.76 km walk tonight and when I came back I was sore all over but it felt good having a hard work out for a second day in a row. I'm looking forward to going for a walk after work tomorrow ratherβ¦
A wonderful day soΒ far. Last night after coming back from my work out, I turned off my alarm so that I could sleep in today and just wake up at whatever time my body thought was appropriate. I woke up around 10:00 am, did some cleaning around the house along with putting the washing machine on butβ¦
That was a goodΒ workout. I had a productive day, finally posted that blog post regarding left wing politics and the importance of ensuring that what you say and how you present yourself doesn't become an obstacle to getting your ideas listened to. I had a bit of a sleep in today and I decided toβ¦
How you present yourselfΒ matters. There have been a few events over the last few years that bring to the forefront the need to discuss how we on the left present ourselves particularly when you consider the hostile nature of the media towards anyone who falls outside of the neoliberal orthodoxy.β¦
Finally the end of theΒ week. Finally it is the end of the week, time to relax in bed before heading off to sleep. I'm at the moment pondering whether I should change my alarm back to 9:00 am or maybe 9:30 am to get an extra bit of sleep or whether I should stick to 8:30 am. I know an extra hour ofβ¦
A good start to theΒ day. I woke up this morning, had a bit of a doze then went for a small walk - wanted to get out of the house for some fresh air before having to work. A video appeared in my shorts on YouTube regarding the term 'gear acquisition syndrome' and the trap of buying gear for a newβ¦
Maybe nature will take care of the insufferable tech dude bros - weβll either get a cure to cancer or societyβs more annoying people will disappear but either way itβll be an interesting thing to watch unfold. tech.yahoo.com/ai/articles/...
The day is over, one more day toΒ go. I'm now in bed with my laptop at my side - I promised myself to read more but I think I need to get better organised in the morning so then I can write my blog posts then and then leave the evening for reading. The one thing I think I'll also do is have a diaryβ¦
One day toΒ go. I can't wait until the week has ended - one more day to go and it'll be the weekend soon and then in three weeks I'll be going to Australia for a holiday. Ever been in a mood where you just don't want to do anything but instead just shut out the world and relax at home with noβ¦
A good day back atΒ work. I woke up this morning, more rain outside but I had a coffee to wake me up along with some free weights while watching some news on television. I'm following along with the the election but the one thing I can help but get the feeling that the media are like kids you knewβ¦
the situation of 'too poor to be rich, too rich to be poor' - for example, a single person living alone has to earn less than $37,111 per year before they're eligiable which is below the minimum wage (assuming $23.95 X 40hrs x 52wks) - I'd hardly call someone on minimum wage as being 'rich' and π§΅
Back to work. I woke up today a little later than usual because I wanted to get a good night sleep after having that shocking headache yesterday. For breakfast I had a sashimi salad and some blueberries on the side then paired that up with a cup of tea - a nice way to wake up in the morning. Forβ¦
Back to work onΒ Friday. I woke up this morning with a horribly bad headache - the pain was at the back of my eyes and just feeling bad all around. I thought maybe I was dehydrated so as a result I draink some water, I put some warm clothes on and got some fresh air (under the carport because itβ¦
A rainy Thursday. I woke up today and had a cup of tea, switched on the television to see what the latest news - we've got an election in November down in New Zealand so I like to keep up to date on the latest announcements. At this stage I've already decided who are I am going to vote for becauseβ¦
A busy day atΒ work. It was raining this morning so I just pottered around at home and did some free weights instead - if I cannot get a walk in then I like to have a backup plan so that I can still burn a few calories and build up some lean muscle (they're only 5 kg barbells afterall). I watchedβ¦
