Not only was it truly that prevalent, the buildup to getting to play it was like an upcoming holiday. Oregon Trail day next month! Oregon Trail day in one week! It's Oregon Trail day, I HAVE to go to school today

Americans who went to school in the 90s: did you play Oregon Trail? Did EVERYONE play Oregon Trail? I keep seeing it come up and wonder if it was truly that prevalent

Something great about librarians is that they're almost always very proud of their collections & are excited when anyone wants to see them. A lot of the fun stuff I find for videos is a result of me (just some guy) asking "hey do you have anything cool about TKTK_Topic?" ... Anyone can do this!

Y'know what? I didn't know citizens could even look through archives! I thought you had to be certified or have a badge or something similar do so. That's actually really cool! (The more I know.)

Trans voter to @aoc.bsky.social: Trans people in America feel like they've been abandoned by the Democratic Party, that we are a losing issue, that it's not worth defending us. What do you say to that? AOC:

A few years ago I was going through the archived papers of a guy who ran a prominent theater in the 1980s, and between drafts of playbills and invoices for upholstery I found a large collection of his very polite correspondence with sex workers

welcome to special collections -- everything you've been told about archives being "boring" and "dusty" is wrong

I wish people would just SAY what this bill is: An attempt to ruin the lives of trans people. This "no hate" message is fine, I guess, but AHH GEEZ does it give me flashbacks to the ineffective "no on prop 8" campaign. Voters don't respond to vague concepts like "hate," they respond to people!

No Hate in WA State@nohateinwastate.bsky.social

I-638 could force tens of thousands of girls to undergo invasive, medically unnecessary, and potentially harmful genital exams to verify their sex for sports’ physicals. Join hundreds of other teachers, mental health experts, nurses, and doctors by voting NO on I-638 on your ballot. #NoHateWASta

Like, look at this. Ok, someone wants me to vote on on 8, but WHAT IS IT? Consultants were afraid that saying "gay" would scare voters, so the ads were about ... "fundamental rights," that it's "unfair." But who cares! Lots of things aren't fair! So what!
