Starting the campaign to put Will Self in Star Wars. Imagine this guy in imperial garb. Grand Moff Vocab, force-choked by Vader for talking about the haecceity of R2-D2

any other suggestions for recasting Star Wars with contemporary writers? Sally Rooney as a resistance princess seems a gimme. Richard Osman can be Chewie I guess

Thought the £47.87 price for Amol Rajan's entry level membership tier might be related to his date of birth. But that seems to be 4 July 83. Maybe it's a typo

Matt Smith as Prince Phillip in The Crown. So yes, this is TV. but he did kill Diana

Daniel Radosh@radosh.bsky.social

My kid has started a Letterboxd list called Killer Sweaters for films where the killer wears a great sweater and they've asked me to throw it out to Bluesky for more because "that's the kind of thing those weirdos like to do"

Something undignified about BBC1 - the FLAGSHIP CHANNEL - broadcasting something proudly referring to itself as a "video podcast"

Maybe this could be adapted for tv. Celebrity sausage house. Last one scarfing. One banger after another

Can think of one job interview where I should have arrived with an iced coffee/knickerbocker glory/Asterix-style roast boar if only to distract from the fact I'd just been caught in a biblical downpour with no brolly and was completely sodden from head to toe.

Whales in the Thames klaxon

The Port of London Authority says that a pod of approximately 25 long-finned pilot whales has been reported within the River Thames east of Gravesend. British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) is monitoring them and keeping boats away.

Saw and heard loads of these beauts (nutcrackers) on holiday. Maybe the iconic sound of the alps/dolomites for me (ahead of cowbells, marmot whistles, and the satisfying bloop upon ingress to the chairlifts).

Last full day here, last hut - the Ütia Forcelles. Maybe the best of the lot. Lunch involved turtres, a local specialty somewhat like fried crispy ravioli. Don't want to come home
