I'll never understand companies that dictate "10 sick days per year". As if I have some sort of control over when my body is sick. You'd rather force people in to the office when they are sick and increase the likelihood of spreading the sickness around your employees? Okay. Good for you, I guess.

Sometimes, you just need to pick up a Thich Nhat Hanh book and take a break for a moment. #Mindfulness #BePresant

I seriously think the single greatest upgrade to my ham shack ever, has been this 8ft extension cable for my handset on my V/UHF radio. Being able to sit on the couch, working on my laptop, doing other things, and quickly control/access/respond to calls is wonderful! #hamradio #amateurradio

VICTORY! EFF, our co-counsel and our clients have won our lawsuit against the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. A judge agreed OPM violated the law when it disclosed millions of federal employee records to DOGE agents. The court will decide the remedy at a later date.

Today I applied to a job at github.com and when I went to register an account, I was told: "Password cannot be longer than 20 characters. Password can contain only the following characters (a-Z, A-Z, 0-9) and these symbols: ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) - _ + =" ...seriously, Microsoft?

It's 2026. If your .zip file still dumps its entire contents into $CWD instead of NAME/ You can rot in hell.

I think (#)SilentSunday is my new favorite hashtag. I didn't actually tag it here because I don't want to disrupt the beautiful feed that exists. But be sure to check it out.

I'd personally love to get out of tech. I have a career coach and everything and am discussing what my future looks like. But the truth is, without utterly radical life changes for me and my family, leaving tech isn't very realistic right now. And I hate that.

Finally upgraded the 25 year old station in my shack! Welcome the ICOM ID-5200. I’m happy to have something more modern that also has built-in KISS. Straight to a Raspberry Pi for APRS logging and monitoring. So much more to learn and play with! #hamradio #amateurradio

I'm apparently a moron who can't figure out the FCC website for filing for an amateur radio club (605-C). I already have an FRN and account with CORES. I'm trying to file the 605-C for a new club. The FCC Form 605 [...] https://social.mauve.haus/@mauvehed/statuses/01M3QEARCWFPGR30DTPBBZCTBG
