A new study of UK #science curricula found that of 181 scientists referenced at A-level-equivalent just 3 (!) are women: a powerful reminder to make #womenScientists visible in science education. Because if girls never see themselves represented, why would they see a future for themselves in #STEM?

The US government has launched an investigation into nine universities’ employment of international researchers. Vice-president JD Vance said these universities are using too many J-1 #visas, often used by #postdocs in the US.

While the brilliant Lise Meitner (1878-1968) was nominated for the #NobelPrize 49 times – 30 x for Physics & 19 x for Chemistry – she was famously snubbed. Yet her legacy lies not in a medal: in solving the puzzle of #nuclearFission, she fundamentally changed our understanding of matter & energy.

A rare cosmic tipple! 🥂😉For the first time ever, astronomers have detected a rare form of the organic alcohol #methanol in space. Intriguingly, the molecule is far more abundant than current models predict - a sign there’s still a secret ingredient in cosmic chemistry we’ve yet to uncover!🔭🌟

Since the #Medicine #NobelPrize on Monday, everyone's been talking about #optogenetics. So...opto-what? 😂If you're curious what all the fuss is about, here's a short video to shed some light (tee-hee 😉) on it!
