Went to an in person writing group. Aaaaaaaand my laptop was dead and I forgot my charger. Doh!

Enjoying the new job and the one hour lunch break that gives me enough lunch time to go to the gym, freeing my nights to write-when I'm not going to my second job, anyway.

New day, new job

Got told by someone who worked at Tor as a copy editor that my first couple chapters where 'fantastic'. Not I just have to keep that up. (Currently on chapter 16 on my developmental edit round 3) No pressure or anything...

Got another 300 words in. Just have to remember how to write and I think I'll be back in the game. Hopefully.

Well that was pretty loud (bolide apparently)

That moment when the 5k word short "comic book" story you wrote attracts more attention from a writing group than the story you've spent a year on... (comic book in quotes because it's not a comic book, I can't draw)

Many words were typed today. Some words were deleted but I'm up to the halfway point through editing the current draft.

I want to have a scene where my POV character visits the surgeon to get her stitches fixed after some ill-advised parkour. But that would relieve some of the tension that I need to keep going until she blows up later. Sorry Morris, you're still just a background character...

Man everything is Celtic. OK, change Helvetti to Raetia. They were always the Roman remnant in my head anyway so... BAM! #writing

You know what I haven't watched for like a wicked long time? The Prisoner. I should watch that again.

I always get ideas on how to improve scenes when I'm at work or the gym. I take notes, but when I get ideas I want to fix them right now.

That moment when you start having the voice in a characters's head say "we" as a pronoun and you realize that you're never going to get a good grammer score in ProWritingAid.

Trying to decide if I should remove my proto-celtic words and replace them with English or maybe even change them to Cornish which seems like the closest to Gaulish. Trying to find that balance between world building and readability... #writing

Venting to the void: I'm regretting letting people convince me not to take a job in Ireland a few years ago...

I realized the problem with my prose is that I let my grammar checker convince me it was a good idea to remove a lot of the transition words, so now it reads like a robot. I have to remind myself that it's a tool, not an expert. #writing

Goofing with different AI models locally and the thing that always amazes me is how confidently incorrect LLMs can be. It's like talking to my parents. I think it's baked in because they're probability engines.
