We braved the rain to make some new friends at Fright Nights last night

I usually save lil Dante adventure posts for my Telegram group but we went to Make, Believe, Magic: The Worlds of The Jim Henson Company at GOMA on the weekend. It was such an amazing exhibition & I may or may not have received a surprise tiny Dante gift from @maxxchee.bsky.social

I knew this exhibit would be a bit emotional but walking through the doorway and seeing THE Thought Lion stopped me in my track (and yes, there may have been a tear or 2)

Mini Maxx's first big adventure was to "Make, Believe, Magic The Worlds of The Jim Henson Company" at QAGOMA Getting to see so many of the characters I grew up with up close and in person was absolutely incredible!

The vet bursting back into the consult room today after I'd already paid and signed the euthanasia paperwork because he found something that might save Hobson's life

Medication induced brain fog is a hell of a thing. What do you mean I'm struggling to remember how to sew in a zipper? I've done it a thousand times!

Got a few spots done today. I'm going to have to reprint the hands and feet a bit larger to be nore in proportion but they're coming along well

Now we're (slowly) getting somewhere. Sewing takes forever when your hands don't work properly anymore but they're coming together

Guess who's not dead? THIS GUY! I'm just constantly exhausted and nauseous all the time from having to inject myself with poison every week to stop my immune system from dissolving my joint. But I'm not dead yet

I'm at the point of treatment now where I kind of forget I'm physically disabled and get down on the floor to do something and realise too late that I can't get back up. I've been stuck sitting on the floor 3 times now...

Omg I can use chop sticks again! It was hard work and my fingers ached afterwards but I avoided having to ask for a fork

Sometimes I surprise myself and do something kind of smart. Like designing this little jig today to make getting my #fursuit eye shines lined up more accurately.

Today I got the all clear from the optometrist to start a malaria drug (alongside the chemo drug I'm already on) because this one's major side effect is it could destroy my eyes and kill me. Autoimmune diseases are fun 🙃

When a lot of small things go wrong at once, it makes me think of that scene in Ace Ventura 2

Sometimes I think I'm pretty good with technology. Then there's time like today when I update my 3D printer software and now I can't figure out how to reconnect to the damn thing

After 18 years together and fighting so hard for the last 5 weeks of illness Wijit let me know she was tired and done fighting on Monday. I'm at peace with making the call but after spending over half my life with her she's left a massive hole in my life.

Ayy, this week's phlebotomist found the vein in my arm on the first try! No bruised hand for a week this time.

I've found an unopened box of casting foam that I have no use for now that I've moved onto printing TPU bases so I may have some foam feline and canine bases available next week

After being neglected and losing a few plants when I was couchbound some of my #nepenthes are springing back to life and producing some nice pitchers now they're getting regular care again

Important update for TMC

Whelp, here goes my first full dose of chemo drugs to try and stop my screwed up immune system from destroying my joints 🤞 Fingers crossed for no crazy side effects

Two doses of prednisone down and not only could I walk up the 8 steps at our front door normally today but I managed to hold a knife to chop an onion and cook dinner without having to take a break since June! I'm still very stiff and sore but I'm starting to be able to function again!

Well it's official. My immune system sucks and I have rheumatoid disease I'm on a crazy high dose of steroids for a few weeks to get things under control. Then next wee I start on the chemo drug to suppress my immune system so it hopefully stops trying to destroy my joints Yay

Wij is eating! After another trip to the vet for more pain meds and a good nap she woke up and polished off 2 small plates of chicken. That's more than she's eaten at once in 2 or 3 days!

We spent well over an hour at the vets today with Wijit. She's 18yo and suddenly stopped eating. I was sure it was kidney failure and we'd be saying goodbye but her blood work was great for a cat her age. After coming back home with some medications she's managed to eat a some chicken!
