I wasn't going to make another game for a bit but I did remember a project I started years ago I kind of want to finish

was having a breakdown over traffic in the car and gracie abrams started playing and made the whole situation pathetic I started laughing thank you gracie abrams

champagne problems into liability into traitor apple music just tell me you want me to do it

idk if it's my phone or android auto but my phone overheats literally the minute I get in the car

having a name that's impossible do namesearch is incredible for my mental health

that being said a number of people have reached out to talk about the issue direcrtly and I honestly super appreciate it, both from the people who enjoyed the site for what it was and from the people who still have issues with it

i fully support having a zero tolerance policy on AI use but i do think that the way we need to talk about AI use in projects needs to be able to differentiate between a fully vibe coded project and more targeted uses, or the sentiment starts to feel a bit reductive

to be clear i'm against using this stuff at all but when you reduce everything to asking the computer to steal something for you it creates a lot of room for people to go "well i'm not using AI like that", accuracy is important!

I know very little about this man but everything I do know paints him as quite possibly the most repulsive human being ever conceived

I don't care how much you like olivia rodrigo you cannot use traitor for your first dance song unless you're angling for a divorce

once again thinking about a project that i can under no circumstances actually release: taylor swift theatrhythm

currently plagued with the concept of using friendship bracelets as a JRPG ability system

last thing i'll say about Picross S++ is that in the ~30 hours the game was up, all of you managed to clear a collective 14,586 Picross puzzles (not including anyone without synced data), holy shit

Picross DS was the second most played game in the collection, with 1,495 clears to Picross S1's 2,743. 2,079/12,206 puzzles were cleared at least once

and with that, all user data on the site will be removed. that being said, none of the user data collected included any identifying information outside of the name you picked for your account.

Picross S1 was by far the most popular game but for whatever reason P049, Pickup Truck from Picross e5 ended up the 5th most cleared puzzle with 108 total clears. NP Vol. 5 and 6 were the least popular games, with 11 clears total

as much as i nitpick the presentation in most of Square's HD-2D games as an artstyle it's admittedly leagues better than what every other mid-budget JRPG is doing

oh god i still need to figure out an outfit for the olivia concert next weekend

Picross S++ has been shut down

Picross S++ will be going down within the hour

i'm sorry for bringing all of you on this wild ride with me, and especially sorry to anyone who felt deceived or betrayed by this project. i hope i can make it up to you in the future

Having slept on it, the current plan is that Picross S++ will be (at least temporarily) taken down on Friday

i do appreciate you all letting me be truly the most annoying woman in the world about this btw, i fully understand that writing a 3,000 word essay and posting through my guilt is the most annoying shit possible

at some point I plan on releasing a new version of the game as an open source project, that comes with puzzles from the demo versions of each game by default and the ability to extract additional puzzle data from each game's ROM, but this will likely take some time and I have other projects first

if you've been enjoying the site, i'm sorry. but ultimately i want to release a version of the game that i'm not conflicted about, and one that the people who play the game aren't either.

if you still enjoy the site after this, I'm happy you do! i still stand by the rest of the work put into it, and I'm glad that I couldn't ruin it for you. If you can't, I'm sorry and I totally understand it. Ultimately it's not my place to tell you how to feel about any of this

i do have more thoughts on this that i'll write up at some point in a larger retrospective on the whole project, but I wanted to get something out now instead of waiting
