A new shark warning at one of California’s most notorious shark-attack locations has surfers and swimmers on notice. Pacific Grove Police are advising people to avoid the water at Lovers Point in Monterey Bay following reports of heightened shark activity. The beach itself remains open.

“Lover’s Point Beach is open; however, water activities are not recommended due to the presence of sharks in the area,” the city announced.
