The darkness isn't a teacher. It's part of the territory. And if you're trying to understand the whole territory, you cannot simply leave it off the map.

It's easy to believe you understand the human condition when you've only experienced the parts of it you can comfortably endure.

People often imagine moral decisions as these clear, cinematic moments where good and evil stand on opposite sides of a line. But in reality, the wrong choice can feel perfectly reasonable in the moment. It can feel necessary. It can even feel like the responsible thing to do.

Racists are so lazy. Like, there are perfectly good reasons to hate almost every single human being on the planet. And you pick skin color. Man, get to know them. Then you can really find out why they're pieces of shit.

On my new album, Kiss to Kill, there's a little story at the end, hidden within the songs. Starts with Possession, goes to Undercover, goes to Vamp, goes to Soulburn. Starts with a jealous love. It goes to a hidden love. It goes to a breaking apart, and it goes to the aftermath.

They are actively making the mistake of thinking their rhetoric and their positions moved people. But in reality what happened was people moved through their positions. So they're still using the old same tactics, and they're not working, and they don't know why. That's why.
