Thinking about the similar focus on textiles in OoT and Steps (animated film also coming out in Nov) A cool creative overlap and (whether a conscious choice or not) at least partially born of backlash against ai, people craving art that feels genuinely crafted by human hands

(Yes I worked on Steps haha, just for a bit! Please check it out when it comes out!) Not saying both projects had the exact same design inspirations, but any creatives working during societal/political trends will be affected by the environment that they're in...

Fairly sold on the look overall for OoT specifically. Wouldn't love if the next game looked like this too but doubt that will happen. The amount of detail on clothing/etc feels like they're stress testing the switch 2 in a smaller game An MM remake looking like this would go hard too 👀 imo

😤 upped my reading goal to 30 books this year (and have a pile of novellas to fall back on just in case lol) 30 might not seem like a lot to bookish folk but I only read 9 last year so its a huge jump for me ✨ loving my bookworm era!

i like audiobooks but my job demands long hours + mental clarity, obv I cannot listen during the bulk of storyboarding as it also requires a focus on storytellling! I think people who don't work in anmation/film would be surprised at how seriously board artists approach story structure.

y'all I haven't screamed about this here YET but if you love character driven storytelling watch this show if you love an incredibly well researched historical fiction watch this show if you love crying at 1 am while contemplating the beauty and perseverance of the human spirit, watch this show

re: today's animation news, people are rightfully angry and tbh i think the creator deserves the criticism they're getting, but i'm also holding out hope they're saying they're using the slop toolset just to secure the funding, and will barely touch it in practice

like i can't speak to a person's inner thoughts, have met them a few times they seemed super chill but idk, all i know is certain other big studios (cough) sure haven't been treating them, or any other creators, well as far as greenlights go (or lack thereof)

every new adult animated sitcom is a crazy talented animation crew trying to save the worst script a live action showrunner has ever written I never disparage these shows bc the crew is always doing their best under a B-list celeb who ignores their advice & calls all the shots
