Basing off last year's tin size, I'm going pretty basic this year. Mostly the usual suspects and then one new thing - those sugar cookies folks make look like calico cats but instead they're torties. Maybe a coffee flavor? (It's not holiday themed I just love my idiot cats.) #baking

I know historically I've had to wait until like mid-November for the decent tins to hit shelves but I will say I'm *sweating* this year. The designs so far are looking bad and pricey - solid color Cookie Time is a recession indicator I guess

Seeing Wildwood was really nice. I needed to see a studio get to make art this week, and art it was allowed to spend time making. Art made by humans still exists and we’re better for it. 🌿

the wheel turns and once again it's time to start thinking about cookies. what cursed tins will the year's harvest bring to me?

I'm also looking at how to thin the recipe herd a little. I'm keeping some old standbys, because it just isn't cookie season without them, but I might experiment with small rice krispie treats, or sizing up the peppermint patties just a smidge to better fill a cookie slot. This economy, man. #baking

(Let me be clear: this is not a complaint about Cookie Time - Cookie Time will be happening. I love doing it. This is a complaint at the world, but it's also an exercise in: how do we wring as much joy as we can out of our dollars this year.)

the idea phase is the easiest and least valuable part of professional creativity. read the first draft of the first Star Wars if you doubt me Great art is made in the grinding, often miserable collision between the ethereal substance of an idea and the mud and blood and friction of reality

BioWare closing is so depressing. Compounding it for me is how predictable it is at a time where creative institutions --studios where artists were nurtured, resourced and trusted to MAKE THINGS -- are being harvested for parts. Emblematic of a soul-sick world.

I'm so glad we got as much Dragon Age as we did - it absolutely changed my brain chemistry and affected the way I make all kinds of art. Anything else I could say about this would get me banned from the app.

“I use AI because I can’t do X” cool, learn “well I cant learn how because I don’t have talent” okay setting aside my ‘talent is propaganda” soapbox for a second - have you considered collaborating with a group of fellow sickos with varying skillsets?? It is truly incredible, I highly recommend it.

Embrace the fucking friction in your life jesus christ. Thats the point! Thats life! Thats art! Thats being human! Make a thing and be bad at it!!!!

No one on Hello Kitty's island seems sufficiently concerned that they all just fell out of an airplane and half of them are missing. Commerce must continue!

Voyager season six might have the best hit rate so far for great episodes. They’re not all winners (what was that Kes episode) but between maintaining threads (Fair Haven, the Borg kids) and having fun (Fake Janeway & Tuvok, the Doctor’s fan club, astronauts reaching the ship) it’s p close to 100%

I think almost every episode that I go “hell yeah I love that episode” is a season 6 episode. GOOD SEASON. Can’t believe we only have one more.

Happy First Birthday (Observed) to Emi! 💚 She’s a year old and truly a menace. When she first came home I thought she was a space cadet, but in fact she’s a deeply intelligent criminal. She loves her worm toys and wreaking havoc, and sometimes for very brief moments she is a cuddly lap cat.

Love that Voyager is traveling the Delta Quadrant dropping buoys at every other planet that just say “too fucking weird - drive around”

Is it just me or is the most unsettling part of the Backrooms’ design the fact that there are absolutely no baseboards anywhere? Nope yeah I hear it, it’s just me.

We’re at Voyager “Virtuoso”, where the Doctor argues Janeway wouldn’t stand in the way of Harry Kim staying behind with an alien he’d fallen in love with, except that she ALREADY DID THAT and at great detriment to both Harry and the alien’s health. Writers watch your own show challenge: impossible

Also this is directly after the episode where the Doctor spends three years on a planet, falls in love, and has a child?? Like ok production timelines and whatever but damn dude get it together

It's nice that it's chilly enough at night that both cats want to be in the bed, but now that means the intermittent ominous banging from downstairs is absolutely a malevolent ghost.

We’re ten episodes in to season six of Voyager which means it’s time for Galaxy Quest, the most Star Trek movie to ever do it. I saw it in theaters with my dad after only watching TNG with him, and it’s VERY fun to revisit after everything. Also just a great movie!

I think the most “adult who was in a gifted and talented program as a kid” thing I could have done to myself was become an author. Just giving myself endless homework and a need for people to be proud of me forever.

It’s my birthday and I’m still so in love with these dum-dums I could scream, so you’re gonna look at them again

I’m so normal about these idiots. Please understand that Uri, a Fallen who has lived untold millennia in The Pit, hates nothing more than riding in Jules’ car (Buttercup). #art

🐈⭐️ COVER REVEAL!! ⭐️🐈 Thrilled to share the cover of my next graphic novel for young readers, MEATBALL: KING OF THE FOREST, coming March 2027 from @MacKidsBooks in the U.S. and @TundraBooks in Canada!

It has been two years exactly since we started (re)watching all of Star Trek and we're about 2/3rds of the way through. (I did add Galaxy Quest to the list because it's canon as far as I'm concerned.) We're months behind on pacing, assuming 1 ep/day, but still not too bad!
