October is Dysautonomia Awareness Month. Dysautonomia encompasses conditions that affect the autonomic nervous system, e.g. orthostatic intolerance (including PoTS), and can significantly impact quality of life. People with ME/CFS often report related symptoms. tinyurl.com/dysauto2026

Update: We will create a dedicated page where links are collated and keep the survey open beyond this weekend for everyone who may have missed this Symptom Saturday round or needs more time. Google Forms autosaves progress for an extended period if you are logged into a Google account.

Tomorrow, we’re kicking off Symptom Saturday – an ongoing series dedicated to taking an in-depth look at one core or additional symptom of ME/CFS at a time. Weekly, we will explore relevant research, guidelines, lived experiences, and management. Keep an eye out on our website: www.meresearch.org.uk

For ME Research Day 2026, ME Research UK asked researchers working on projects funded by the charity for their experience of working collaboratively. Here is what they had to say: #MEResearchDay2026

Yesterday marked the second ME Research Day, a day which was launched by ME Research UK in 2025 to mark 25 years since the foundation of the charity. This year, the focus of ME Research Day is ‘knowledge sharing and collaboration in ME/CFS research’. Find out more: bit.ly/3QdkJ6O #MEResearchDay2026

Yesterday marked Research Appreciation Day, celebrating the hard work of health researchers around the world. Therefore, we highlight the work ME Research UK is currently funding and celebrate the hard work of all researchers involved. tinyurl.com/28275z5y #ResearchAppreciationDay

Many congratulations to Hollie Byrne, Sarah Knight and the team at Murdoch Children's Research Institute, whose research paper on hypothalamus connectivity in adolescent ME/CFS was recognised as a top viewed article for 2025 in the Journal of Neuroscience Research. bit.ly/4erLnPk

In 2024, @MEResearchUK initiated the “Founders’ Science Writing Award”. This year, early career scientists are invited to discuss heterogeneity in ME/CFS research populations. Cash prizes for winning entries. More info: bit.ly/4tHXlwr #MECFS #MEresearch

ME Research UK currently has more than £2 million invested in 14 ME/CFS research projects across the globe. These cover a range of different scientific areas, and you can read more about them – and other recent studies – on our website: meres.uk/current.
