Fab time at the launch party for Wilomina last week at @goshcomics.bsky.social in London!

Look at the pen work on this Alex Raymond RIP KIRBY strip! My gawd.

Fab to visit Notting Hill Bookshop (yes, the bookshop from that movie) to sign copies of Wilomina: The Land of Dreams and Nightmares with Kiran at @scholasticuk.bsky.social. Had a great banana bread snack, to recharge, at their coffee shop next door too.

On the Wilomina book tour. Just arrived in London, we’re here for 2 days for the launch party at @goshcomics.bsky.social , also doing author visits in local schools, and visiting as many shops as we can cram in, to sign copies of our graphic novel Wilomina: The Land of Dreams and Nightmares.

Join us and Scholastic UK for the Wilomina launch party at Gosh! Comics in London. We’re coming all the way down from Glasgow to celebrate the release of our graphic novel and we can’t wait to see you there! Thursday 24th Sept at 7pm, 1 Berwick Street. Free.

Just did a Scholastic Virtual Book Club live session with 69 schools!

Loved reading @stupidmonster.bsky.social ‘s Mighty Mega Pets! It’s hilarious! #KidsGN📚💬 #KidLitUK

Screen are partly responsible for this: reading becomes less appealing when your brain is flickering all the time. But comics combine images + words, and your brain has to piece them all togeter like a fun game to get meaning. Which is right up kids’ street.

That made us think: when we do author visits we always ask kids to raise their hands if they read comics. When we started author visits in 2009, only a handful raised their hands. Now most of them do.

Taken this day, 2015, The Red Shoes www.flickr.com/photos/woola... Curious to see this turn up on my Flickr timeline, as I've just has the creatos of this gorgeous book, @metaphrog.bsky.social visiting our bookshop with their delightful new #GraphicNovel , Wilomina #books #livres

We will “learn why comics are real reading!”
