Background check BS really needs to be automated with AI. You cant expect me to fill out a giant form and then tell me with a window.prompt "validation error in address gaps" and proceed to not tell me where!?!?! It should be, upload all docs -> AI figures this shit out.

Been using @railway.com for years and with their MCP, agents work so easily with it. I don't think anything could replace railway in my personal dev workflow.

@bashbunni.dev thats what I've been trying to figure out! All my recent projects needed to include a shell.nix to even be able to run it in local dev ๐Ÿ˜‚

Started making a ChatGPT plugin, which is just an mcp. But it's also interesting, building an api for large company's "frontend" when it's always been the other way around.

Everytime I'm on windows I install this app called Spacesniffer. There's nothing quit like it on linux (filelight is ok but just not the same). So in classic linux user fashion, I made my own!

Note to self, don't try to stream on Nixos. OBS will forget all of your screenshare windows and when you open OBS you'll be met with n windows asking you to select new windows for your sources (and none of the windows will tell you for what source.

I wanted to write some @gleam.run, manually. Not knowing what to write started going thru #aoc from 2015. Man gleam is so chill to trad-code with. 2015d3p1 involved using dicts. I remembered the basics of the strat from 2024, but had to re-figure out some stuff. But got it first try :D

ngl, I forgot the syntax and common functions from stdlib, but since gleam has like 20 keywords if that it was SUPER easy to pickup and get going. Really enjoying having to use recursion for everything, its both a challenge and a relief (fewer choices).

I wanna use both Golang and Gleam more. Gleam for the language and paradigm. Go for the tooling and ecosystem.

A tool using my GPU to record my screen for game clips uses less memory than SPOTIFY desktop.

Been close to 2 weeks on Linux. Very happy to be back here. Very minor issues I've yet to fix, but overall very happy here. Gnome 50 Is surprisingly good.

Building desktop rust apps is a pain on NixOS. Among a few other issues that just shouldn't happen, I'm considering going to bluefin + nix instead.

Ignoring all the scuffed things you might have to do on a NixOS system, the end result is really a marvel. As an ex-Arch user, I feel like NixOS is a huge step above. I am truly in control of my system.

I went back to linux yesterday. I've been tweaking and configuring this machine for hours each day. Wont stop until its perfect. (NixOS btw)

Today I learned Nix uses lazy evaluation of values. Today I learned I don't like lazy evaluation of values. People complain about javascript hoisting, then some sects of FP-cult happily and eagerly implement something far worse. smh

Hey @leaflet.pub have you guys considered a "comment" block that is rendered in editor but not on page? Could be useful for drafting with editor/writer notes. Its how I usually write my posts in markdown via html style <!-- note --> comments.

Honestly 14GB is kinda a lot. Whats in there? It must be when I tried proton drive for photos.

My main editor progression: Bloodshed IDE > VS2013 > VS2015 > VS2017 + Sublime > Atom > Vscode > cursor > Zed > and now, I might move to Helix. Had helix installed for over a year but never learned the motions beyond super super basics like opening the file picker. Excited for Steel plugins

I stopped using worktrees with agents nearly as often, instead I now tell it to commit their hunks. Not perfect of course, if changes are very complex and interwoven in the same files, it can get confused fast. But if working on separate changes, they can be in the same worktree.

@gleam.run @crowdhailer.bsky.social are there any special files for the gleam stickers? or just the SVG that's on the website? I'm planning on going to some meet-ups, and I thought it would be cool to bring some gleam stickers and introduce more people to gleam.

It's so weird. I thought hell would freeze over before a MacBook was an affordable option. It's strongly considered the new, but I needed a little bit more power, so I went with an air. Got a 13inch m5 air midnight colored 16GB memoru 512GB storage. Really like the size.

Sure, framework would have been my top choice, especially the pro. But at the moment, the price point isn't ideal for me while I'm between jobs. $1200 was a bit much already, but now that I have it I'm sure as hell going to make good use of it and go to more meetups.

Setup my new laptop with darwin-nix. So far, my configuration feels pretty solid. Getting setup quickly was more important than understanding everything, so I used AI to port many things over. Everything except for whatsapp is managed under Nix. github.com/metruzanca/n... #nix

github.comGitHub - metruzanca/nixfiles: My nixos system config. Currently only nix-darwinMy nixos system config. Currently only nix-darwin. Contribute to metruzanca/nixfiles development by creating an account on GitHub.

Nix sensei @aly.codes do you have any recommended changes to this config? Would very much appreciate a review/roasting. As I myself am a Nix noob and don't fully know if AI is gaslighting me :) e.g. I used ./home/ in my dotfiles too, idk if thats common in nixfiles. AI seems to think so.

Heyo @dreamsofcode.bsky.social, just setup nix-darwin on a new system. Your video from a few years ago was a huge help. I've got pretty much everything in my flake. Apps, config, sys prefs. I'll probably post a blog post with my notes & thoughts soon.

Hey Atmosphere, is there already an app that I can use that does atproto webhooks? (I can probably listen into the firehose/streams and make this of course) I specifically wanna listen to @leaflet.pub documents so I can force my website to refetch blog posts.

Tried out data-star.Dev in a recent project. Seems pretty cool for my backend heavy app.

I built my own openclaw in golang. I wanted to know how it worked internally and I found a great resource to walk me thru the general implementation path. Learned a lot and might keep updating it. Also Hermes was a huge inspiration, probably more than openclaw.

Been using Deepseek v4 Pro/Flash exclusively because I'm price conscious and currently between jobs. Can someone using both open weight models and the "big ones" tell me if I'm missing out? Deepseek seems hella fast and I'm loving it, but if I spent more is there most speed left on the table?

People use lag switches in games? Hah! I just run a 3-5 agents and that lags all my games to 10fps

Hey @thorstenball.com saw your episode on DavidOndrej's pod. Really resonate with a lot of things you've said. Especially the way to "rethink SWE". I really love being able to focus on the UX of the tools I build nowadays. I also really agree, forms need to die.

Cant help myself bringing in at least a few things from @charm.land in every go project. log is an easy one to make it in all the time. huh is another I keep importing recently for clis

I've been using deepseek v4 flash exclusively. Very high quality for very little cost. Now with this week before reset I'm going to go ahead and use v4 pro instead. Not that I feel like I need to, just want to make the most of the tokens. cc @cmgriffing.bsky.social
