Moving from the suburbs to a city with public transportation has been wonderful for a lot of reasons, but one of my favorites is the increase in opportunities for Staring Out The Window And Daydreaming.

So proud and excited to share my flash fiction "The Last Florida Panther" is out today in the South Florida Poetry Journal! Give it a read here:

Please do not fall into the trap of thinking that a side project should be "useful". The only purpose of a side project is to be enjoyed. Perhaps you enjoy making it, or maybe you enjoy using it once it's finished, but always remember that the joy itself is the goal.

I was lucky enough to be at this panel (just barely, standing room only) and it was amazing!! Super thoughtful and inspiring from all three authors, but I didn’t expect Chuck Tingle’s philosophy to make me so emotional. Love is in fact real

I cannot promise my readers that everything I ever write will be amazing, but I CAN promise them that everything I ever write will be something I have actually written and not, for example, a soulless pile of robot puke.

I've been saving the first money I earned from writing to spend on something entirely unnecessary and joyful, and yesterday I used it to see Return of the King performed by the SF Symphony. It was absolutely wonderful and I feel like my 12 y/o self would've been very proud (maybe a little jealous).

Just finished reading Our Share of Night by Marina Enriquez (tr. Megan McDowell)- absolutely astonishing, breathtaking, incredible work. I don't usually post on here but I feel like shouting into the void about it because it was the kind of book that leaves you thrumming under the skin afterward.

I've read all of Enriquez's short stories (also wonderful) and the extension of her already immersive, haunting prose into the world and inhabitants of the novel worked so well. I read it in just three sittings and feel left with an itchy, generative inspiration.
